High Road Quilter: March 2015
http://highroadquilter.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 24, 2015. The People Have Arrived For the Elephant Parade! Excitement is building backstage as the people have arrived backstage (what do you call the part of the parade where people get ready? And as everyone requested dancing people, they are doing just that! Or maybe she has to go to the bathroom really badly! Or maybe one of them will get a special place on the border. This is the dancing couple I showed on the last Elephant Parade post, but now in fabric! The animals and people are jo...

High Road Quilter: Snowbird Quilt Reveal
http://highroadquilter.blogspot.com/2013/11/snowbird-quilt-reveal.html
Tuesday, November 26, 2013. I had so much fun making the Infinity quilt, I went straight into making another quilt. I was looking for something that would use the same fabric as the Infinity quilt. This time, I found a free pattern. I printed the pattern landscape instead of portrait so I lost the branch pattern and decided to cut my own freeform. Surely I can do a branch. It looks like an alligator to me, or is that a crocodile? Here's what it looks like on the bulletin board. The Snowbird Quilt sha...

High Road Quilter: Review of Husqvarna Viking Opal 650
http://highroadquilter.blogspot.com/2013/11/review-of-huskvarna-viking-opal-650.html
Thursday, November 21, 2013. Review of Husqvarna Viking Opal 650. When the deadline was met and the cleanup started, I brought out my African Crazy quilt, thinking that I could do some handwork on it. But as the cleanup at work happened, my house was also screaming for cleanup, so the box sat unopened. Eventually the pent up demand for sewing got too strong, and I rushed out to buy a new sewing machine. I went straight for the Husqvarna Viking Opal 650. What I like About the Husqvarna Viking Opal 650.

High Road Quilter: April 2015
http://highroadquilter.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 4, 2015. March was National Quilt Month for me. Not only did I find the time and the mojo to do a lot of quilting, and watching quilting shows, I also won two prizes! I received two fat quarters for helping a quilter name one of her quilts. These are beautiful, versatile colors that will fit in any quilt. I might even put them in a quilt I am working on now. Then, all three of us were called to get questioned to serve on the same jury. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hello...

High Road Quilter: Elephant Parade Considerations
http://highroadquilter.blogspot.com/2015/08/elephant-parade-considerations.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Here are all of my elephant parade blocks so far. Some of them have the applique added, but as you can see, most of them do not. I really like how it is looking so far, but I have this great debate. Today, I am leaning towards making more blocks. Yesterday, I wanted to finish it, and the other day, I wanted to make more blocks. Labels: elephant parade quiltalong. This quilt is absolutely amazing. You are really talented! I absolutely love this! August 2, 2015 at 5:43 PM. What size...

High Road Quilter: My First Hexagon for La Passacaglia
http://highroadquilter.blogspot.com/2015/08/my-first-hexagon-for-la-passacaglia.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. My First Hexagon for La Passacaglia. I have made my first hexagon ever! The two fabrics are different weights - I was matching colors, not weights, and using the same weight will make it function better. I also did not match the points correctly in the center, so I am going to have to be more accurate with the piecing and matching of points. Looks pretty good to me for a first try! Sounds like you are going to learn a lot from this quilt. August 4, 2015 at 6:28 PM. Subscribe to: ...

High Road Quilter: I'm Going to Make Orphans!
http://highroadquilter.blogspot.com/2015/07/im-going-to-make-orphans.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. I'm Going to Make Orphans! I have been eying a lot of quilts the last couple of years, and in some ways, was happy that I was not able to get a hold of the pattern because the library doesn't carry it. The thing I noticed is that most of these are sampler type quilts that don't really look like sampler quilts. My Small World - pattern in Quiltmania Spring 2015. Nature's Journey by Anni Downs. The Gypsy Wife pattern booklet by Jan Kingwell. Sounds like a fun plan! A Life of Plenty.

High Road Quilter: August 2015
http://highroadquilter.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2015. Outside the house, I have also been doing the same. I have many flower beds in my yard - 10 of them! The person who owned the house before me was a gardener. I like gardening so I like the idea of having that many flower beds, and I didn't want to undo her hard work. I also thought that having that many flower beds made it easier for regular maintenance, since there was less lawn that needed to be cut. Links to this post. Sunday, August 23, 2015. Next up is a Block Lotto bird.
