Tales of a Very Ordinary Triathlete, Offroad Multisporter and Obstacle Racer. August 18, 2012. So after several years of trying to get there, the stars finally aligned and I was able to take part in the 2012 Go Natural Multisport. 1 The Bike Leg – 32km on road. Thereafter, it’s along an undulating West Head Road that features some rather entertaining climbs. At one I thought all smugly to myself that I would have a slight advantage over all those road cyclists who were grinding up in their lowe...Would b...

Training | Lighthouse 2 Skillion Coast Walk
http://lighthouse2skillioncoastwalk.com.au/training
Lighthouse 2 Skillion Coast Walk. Just another WordPress site. The Lighthouse 2 Skillion Coast Walk is not a stroll but a challenge. Depending on what wave you sign up for (you snooze, you lose), you will have between 7 and 9.5 hours to cover the 27.5km of coast. That means you’ll need to have an average walking pace of somewhere between 15 – 20 minutes to cover one kilometre. Not a huge ask, but just bear in mind that half of the course is on sandy goodness. 12 WEEK TRAINING PLAN, FROM HIGH TIDE FITNESS.

Tales of a Very Ordinary Triathlete, Offroad Multisporter and Obstacle Racer. January 16, 2012. Today saw me hit out on my first Kurnell Triathlon down on the shores of Botany Bay. It’s far away, so far that you might say that’s Far Kurnell (seriously, you might want to say that bit out loud). I got to Far Kurnell in plenty of time, and was able to register and transition prep in plenty of time. This was my first triathlon since the Huskisson Olympic Distance. The Pro Tour kids took off first, and it was...

Raw Challenge | James "Dog" Musgrave
http://www.jamesmusgrave.com.au/raw-challenge
Tales of a Very Ordinary Triathlete, Offroad Multisporter and Obstacle Racer. October 14, 2012. Yesterday, I ran the inaugural Raw Challenge. 8211; a new obstacle event up the northern end of the NSW Central Coast at Doyalson. Whilst not as hardcore and full-on as the Tough Mudder. I did my regular High Tide Fitness. Another mudpile, and it was off to the bottom part of the track where another little bits of mud walking were required. Or the Tough Bloke Challenge. The Straddie Salute Triathlon (AKA The R...

Tales of a Very Ordinary Triathlete, Offroad Multisporter and Obstacle Racer. March 6, 2012. On Sunday 04 March I got to do one of my fave training runs – rock hopping from Forresters Beach back around under Cromarty Hill and Crackneck Lookout back to Bateau Bay. Except this time I didn’t have to do it solo as I had company with heaps of people from High Tide Fitness outdoor training. And Crossfit Plus Central Coast. Joining me on the run. About 20 of us headed out from Toowoon Bay Surf Club. In it’...

About Me

My favourite thing to do is to go trail running, pretty much any trail, anywhere… my second favourite thing to do is to go on a wineries tour by bike. Fortunately there’s a surprising number of races in wine country so this works well. For my day job I work as a Web Developer specialising in Coldfusion ( LinkedIn. This website is created using the CMS developed by Telligence. The company I work for, so if you find any bugs in it, I’ll be the person fixing it! In the Spartan Race and I was stoked! 2013 wa...
