Näitä sivuja ylläpitää vuonna 1947 perustettu HIITOLA-SÄÄTIÖ. Sivuilla esitellään sekä Hiitolan historiaa että hiitolaisten järjestöjen, Hiitolan pitäjäseura ry:n ja Hiitolaiset ry:n toimintaa. Hiitolanjoki paikallisesti myös Kokkolanjoki. On 53 km pitkä joki, josta 9 km virtaa Suomen puolella Etelä-Karjalan Rautjärvellä ja 44 km Venäjällä Karjalan Tasavallan Hiitolassa. Joki saa vetensä Simpelejärvestä ja Silamusjoen yläpuolisista järvistä ja laskee ne Laatokkaan. Joessa on 14 koskea.
