杼屋（ひいや）
京都では 杼 を作る職人を昔から親しみをこめて 杼屋 ひいや と呼んでいるのだそうです. ひ とは漢字で 杼 または 梭 と書き、綜 あぜ 、筬 おさ などと並んで織機の重要な必要部品の一つです。 ご存知でしょうが日本を代表する自動車メーカーである トヨタ 、 スズキ ともに織機のメーカーから出発した企業です. またこの使い方は、布を織機で織る際に、綜絖 そうこう によって上下に開いた経 たて糸 の間に、左右に杼を投げ入れることによって、緯 よこ糸 を通す操作に用います. 構造としては、木または金属製で写真のように舟形に造ったものの両端に、金属 皮革などを被せ、胴部に緯管 くだ 写真の赤い糸巻き を保持する切り込みがあり、片方に開けた目 小さい穴 から糸が引き出され、経 たて糸 の中をくぐらせ、右、左と、行ったり来たりするのに適した形状をしています.
