Chapter 22, "The Jeweled Chaplet" - Reading Genji
http://reading-genji.livejournal.com/18518.html
Eading · G. Chapter 22, "The Jeweled Chaplet". I put the book on my Palm [*], which helps in finding time to read; but finding time to write is more difficult. However, I rather liked this chapter, so I hope to pick up some momentum as life calms down in other areas. I figure that if I had wireless, I'd read it online anyway. Chapter 22, "The Jeweled Chaplet". In which Tamakazura reappears. Here's the bare-bones summary I wrote for the wiki, modified slightly:. Things of note about this chapter:. Another...

Just saying hi to everyone and to say I'm safe in Japan, along with… - Abyss of Obsessions
http://maiki.livejournal.com/645613.html
Stfu already, maiki. Mar 12th, 2011. Just saying hi to everyone and to say I'm safe in Japan, along with my parents who happened to be visiting me at this time. It's very miraculous timing 'cause I'm not alone throughout all this confusion and I just happen to be preparing to move out of this apartment so my huge wall of books are already gotten rid of by the time we got that big 8.8 magnitude earthquake. Hoping I get to hear from. 19 comments Leave a comment. Mar 12th, 2011 01:47 am (UTC). God, Maiki, I...

Home not-quite-sweet home - Abyss of Obsessions
http://maiki.livejournal.com/645852.html
Stfu already, maiki. Apr 11th, 2011 at 2:27 AM. Hello, I've been back in Malaysia for the past 3 weeks. For good. It feels great how I could catch a breather ever since I reached Malaysia (and actually still laze around for almost a month since, lol) but I still hate life here. I would elaborate more on that but a long life history rant will be needed, and that's not something I wanna do at 2am so I'll spare you from that for now. 11 comments Leave a comment. I recently finished my MA Thesis on the stories told by the men in… - Reading Genji
http://reading-genji.livejournal.com/19569.html
Eading · G. I recently finished my MA Thesis on the stories told by the men in. A theory advanced by Aileen Gatten and some Japanese scholars is that the chapters were not originally written in their current order, but were only later edited together (perhaps by Murasaki Shikibu herself) into chronological order. The theory goes that there were three "layers" of composition:. From 22 and on, the chapters were probably composed in their present order. Middot Leave a comment. Re-ordering the chapters based...

Chapter 23, "The First Warbler" - Reading Genji
http://reading-genji.livejournal.com/18784.html
Eading · G. Chapter 23, "The First Warbler". I'd like to think that I'm getting better at keeping to a schedule, but really, this chapter is just pretty short. Chapter 23, "The First Warbler". In which the New Year is celebrated elegantly. When Genji visits Tamakazura, the narration suggests a change to come with regard to her, but I'm not quite sure what:. And what might have happened to her if he had not brought her here? He was concerned. "Who is in charge of your wardrobe? She managed a short laugh&#...

Chapter 21, "The Maiden" - Reading Genji
http://reading-genji.livejournal.com/18046.html
Eading · G. Chapter 21, "The Maiden". Yes, I'm already hideously behind on my self-imposed schedule, but "hideous" is also a good word for the month I've been having. Also, while the wiki. Has turned into my private preserve, it absolutely doesn't have to be that way. Jump in! Chapter 21, "The Maiden". In which Yugiri grows up and Genji builds a big house. Okay, actually, this is kind of a three-part chapter, with the first part being Genji still pursuing Asagao, but hardly anything happens there. Yugiri...
