Monkeys and roadside mirrors. This mirror has felt monkey wrath. Next time your out on a mountain road, check out the mirrors that let you see the oncoming traffic. Sometimes, the mirrors are smeared with mud or have dirty fingerprints all over them. So, if you ever find yourself surrounded by monkeys, your best option is to ignore them. And definitely do not show them any food. Remember, there may be twice as many monkeys hanging around in the woods than you actually see. Create a free website.

Kusado Mountain (草戸山）. November 27, 2010 - Kusado Mountain. Kusado Mountain is located near Machida in Tokyo (sorry but I forgot the hike details). It is more of a hill than a mountain. In late November, the leaves were still changing color on a warm Saturday afternoon. We brought our hamburger, potatoes, salmon, shrimp, nabe, and even had some Thai curry. It only cost us 100 yen for the firewood. We had quite a Thanksgiving day feast. Salmon and giant shrimp, fresh from Tsukiji fish market.

April 24, 2011.Mt. Momokurayama. Cherry trees in bloom on Mt. Momokura. Mt Momokura (百蔵山). Height: 1,003 meters. Level: Average (一般者向き）. Hiking Time: 4 hours 40 minutes. Distance: Approx. 9 km. Elevation Difference/最大標高差: 680 meters. Getting There: Shinjuku Station- Take Chuo Line to Saruhashi Station (1 hr 18 minutes / 1280 yen）. Mt Momokura is located in Yamanashi, about 90 minutes west of Tokyo. It is not very far from Mt. Fuji. It will then take about 2 hours to hike back down to Saruhashi Station.

Get off at Enzan Station (塩山駅). 2 hours 16 minutes/Total cost is 1,460 Yen). From Enzan station, take a 30 minute taxi ride to the Kentoku-yama Tozan guchi. Fields of susuki and deer.
