Musings about history, hiking and other outdoor recreational pursuits and banjo music. The Fickleness of Spring. Being a Historian Again →. The Sweet Taste of Summer. August 18, 2011. Rob Burg (aka Hiking Historian). Soon June turns to July and if you can survive the onslaught of mosquitoes and you withstand the bloodletting, it is the real berry season: blueberries and raspberries. Where I used to live I had a great blueberry patch next to the house all to myself. I lost that at my new place, but th...

Musings about history, hiking and other outdoor recreational pursuits and banjo music. Monthly Archives: January 2012. A New Year; New Plans. January 10, 2012. Rob Burg (aka Hiking Historian). I walked out of the office today, took a look at the forest and thought that we should get our maple buckets and taps ready as the day had the same feel as a late winter day. Except one look … Continue reading →. A New Year; New Plans. Being a Historian Again. The Sweet Taste of Summer. The Fickleness of Spring.

Musings about history, hiking and other outdoor recreational pursuits and banjo music. Museums, History and Friends. The Fickleness of Spring →. Fun with Friends and Learning New Things. March 19, 2011. Rob Burg (aka Hiking Historian). I just got back from the Spring MOMCC Conference in Dayton, Ohio and I am feeling exhausted, energized and content from seeing old friends and colleagues once again. Oh well, that is what tomorrow is for, I guess. But I have to go back to the seeing of friends again. A...

Musings about history, hiking and other outdoor recreational pursuits and banjo music. Newer posts →. March 6, 2011. Rob Burg (aka Hiking Historian). I just moved for the first time in almost thirteen years. And what a trial it was. It is great to be in a new place as I had wanted to move for sometime, but boy, it is an adjustment. See you on the Trail!

See you on the Trail! Thursday, February 18, 2010. Date: 1/1/09 - 12/31/09. Here is another trail I did a few times, its one of my favorite in kcmo. Its called Eddy-Ballentine Trail. The trail is only 2.5 miles long but view and trail it self (for being in KCMO) is quite buetiful. Once you get on the main trial you feel like your in the middle of no woods. You can't even hear the cars or big trucks around Hwy 435. Below is some info on the trail and how to get there. Meyer Blvd. and Swope Pkwy. G-G - My ...
