http://anothersideofthislife.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 22, 2015. CR2014: Opabin Prospect and Linda Lake. Started with rain, snow, and hail during breakfast. We left our cabin 45 minutes later than usual, and headed for our preferred messy weather destination, the Opabin Plateau, which we had already visited two days earlier. It's a good place to wander when you don't wish to get too high up or too far away. This photo shows how the bluffs of the plateau appear from lake level. Joan and I were thrilled to encounter a varied thrush. Joan, on ...

Monday, July 7, 2014. Bhutan 2014: Trongsa Ta Dzong and Chumey Valley. The early morning view on May 8th was dominated by low clouds and rising mists. Our little balcony at the Yangkhil Resort gave us this view of the Trongsa Dzong and Ta Dzong above it. The Ta Dzong was originally a watchtower. But is now a museum of the Kings of Bhutan. At times the sun would break through; here's a closeup. The dzong is the sprawling complex at bottom, and the Ta Dzong is the similarly-styled building above it. I'm th...

Friday, February 28, 2014. CR2013: Opabin Lake and the Tree-Eating Marmot. By September 5th Joan and I had hiked Mount Yamnuska. Lake McArthur/All Souls' Prospect. And Last Larch Prospect. Of these only Karst Spring had been a shorter hike, and we had been able to "train" for only two and a half weeks after returning from our extended Arctic trip. Wednesday, January 29, 2014. CR2013: Rummel Lake, Rummel Pass, Rain. The next day, August 30th, opened with the morning sun illuminating the clouds and painting bands of pink and gold on the mountains. Outside our window was a male red crossbill. A bird Joan and I rarely see in Ohio, although it is supposed to winter here. Today our destination was Rummel Lake, named after Baroness Elizabeth "Lizzie" Rummel. We had visited this lake only once before, in 2004, in an intermittent drizzle. We stood transfix...

My first experience with Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Came while were in Calgary. When it came to Saskatoon. We have checked it out a couple of times since it is right beside Don’s Photo.
