A Wee Bit Obsessive: Blue Fur
http://hilaryknitstoo.blogspot.com/2006/10/blue-fur.html
A Wee Bit Obsessive. A record of many, but not all, of my knitting creations. Thursday, October 19, 2006. Done, again. Or almost – I was waiting to cut the yarn and finish it off until I see if it fits the intended recipient. Also, I need to figure out how to get rid of that nipple at the top. (! Rolled Brim Chemo Cap from Head Huggers. With reduced # of cast on stitches (70). Berroco Chinchilla, one skein. INOX/Prym U.S. 8 dpn. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Wee Bit Obsessive: Talia's Rainbow Poncho
http://hilaryknitstoo.blogspot.com/2007/04/talias-rainbow-poncho.html
A Wee Bit Obsessive. A record of many, but not all, of my knitting creations. Wednesday, April 11, 2007. I knitted this a few years ago for Auden, who promptly declared it "too fratchy" and refused to wear it. Fortunately she has an older but tiny cousin, Talia, who is less fussy and appreciates the joy of a rainbow-colored, twirly handknit! I sent it to her back when I first knit it, but this is the first time I've gotten a picture. All making music together! Anyway, here are the poncho stats:. Craft Co...

A Wee Bit Obsessive. A record of many, but not all, of my knitting creations. Monday, September 15, 2008. What I Did on My Summer Vacation, or: Reports of My Demise . Had there been any) would not be all that overly exaggerated. However, here I am! Still knitting, still blogging, sort of. My severe lack of updating here can be attributed to a) summer vacation and b) complete knitting ineptitude since I last wrote. But I'll start with the good – I have one (woo! Moebius Scarf by Cat Bordhi. The bad: ...
A Wee Bit Obsessive: Man Socks
http://hilaryknitstoo.blogspot.com/2006/06/man-socks.html
A Wee Bit Obsessive. A record of many, but not all, of my knitting creations. Friday, June 23, 2006. I was mightily bored of that pattern before I was done. Now I would like to branch out and try some more ambitious sock patterns, but I have these piles of self-striping/patterning Regia . maybe I can find something that works with that. I *cough* may have obtained a copy of "Sensational Socks.". I need to figure out my traveling projects, and soon! Pattern: Yankee Knitter Classic Socks. I'm a 40-somethin...

Knitting Weather: Fruitcake Day
http://knittingweather.blogspot.com/2008/12/fruitcake-day.html
Monday, December 01, 2008. I know it's an unlikely tradition for a nice Jewish girl, but every fall I bake a double batch of fruitcakes. I've been doing it so long - 26 or 27 years - I can't not. Do it But it is a day long commitment to turn 15 pounds of dried fruit and nuts into 19 loaves. In the early years, I used the day we "fall back" to standard time so I could take advantage of the extra hour; I needed every minute of it. In recent times, I've gotten. A quick shout-out to kt. Its The Little Things.
Knitting Weather: June 2008
http://knittingweather.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 21, 2008. I don't have anything new to show, on the knitting front, but I wanted to unveil my summer banner. I took the photo at around 10:15 PM last night. Please forgive the lack of knitting content. I am knitting . maybe I'll have something photo-worthy soon. But it will probably remain quiet around Knitting Weather. For a while, as we have a hectic summer of travel planned. I know I have at least one visitor from the Kelowna, BC area (my StatCounter. Happy Summer to all!
Knitting Weather: It's The Little Things...
http://knittingweather.blogspot.com/2008/12/its-little-things.html
Sunday, December 14, 2008. It's The Little Things. My very special friends in Berkeley, who will be having their annual dinner at Bucci's. Without me next week, will each be getting a bookmark. The light was extraordinarily crappy this week, as I tried to get photographs of these before sending them off. Great, I know.). Perle Cotton #5, assorted colors, less than 1 skein for each. I think I used a 2.1 mm, but it might have been something else. That's a Ravelry link). Picking out beads for each of them!

Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Go Ahead, Make My Day*. Helen, of Chronic Knitting Syndrome. Day today by giving me a "You Make My Day Award." I'm excited way out of proportion. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love being a part of this incredible knitting community. A Wee Bit Obsessive. There's way more than knitting here. We laugh, we cry, sometimes there's knitting; always there's something to think about. Beautiful knits and fantastic photos of Maud's gorgeous Afghan hound, Ludde! Another Alas...
Knitting Weather: April 2008
http://knittingweather.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 21, 2008. My Knitting Mojo Has Gone . And it apparently took my Blogging Mojo with it. April is 3/4 behind us and I have nothing knit-worthy to show for it! Been knitting, at least a bit, most days, but I'm just not satisfied with anything. This is the niggling thought I've had going since I first cast on. Why didn't I listen to it then? My other knitting uncertainty is a summer tank out of Allegro. Suffering from this knitting malaise, I was especially grateful when the mail arrived last w...
Knitting Weather: March 2008
http://knittingweather.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 28, 2008. A Most Excellent Week. It started getting excellent early on when we sighted our local wolf. Next up was a rare convergence of clear skies and solar activity that produced the best show of the Aurora Borealis. That we've seen since moving back to Juneau. And today. We took advantage of some gloriously sunny and mild weather, and went cross-country skiing on the lake. It was a day to wipe out the memory of the 220 rainy days. In an average year. He's getting the blogger "comment lu...
Knitting Weather: Guess Who Came To Juneau?
http://knittingweather.blogspot.com/2008/10/guess-who-came-to-juneau.html
Friday, October 17, 2008. Guess Who Came To Juneau? My knitting continues at a very slow, unbloggworthy pace. I keep adding "just one more repeat" to my Shetland Triangle Shaw. L I hope to finish it soon. I've been surprisingly monogamous with this project, probably because I have memorized the pattern and it now fills both of my knitting needs: complex enough to keep me interested and simple enough to be carry along or TV knitting. Now that the end is in sight ( really. Sounds like a great campaign visi...
Knitting Weather: May 2008
http://knittingweather.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 31, 2008. One FO, Two WIPs and a Brush With The Kniterati. I've been a happy knitter for the past few weeks. Around the same time that I changed lace directions, I was also agonizing over my Diagonal Triangle Tank. One day I glanced up and the garter stitch swatch pinned to the cork board above my desk was catching the light just so. Garter stitch brings out all the best in this yarn. SO what to knit? I know it doesn't look like much yet, but I'm delighted with it nonetheless. I'm espec...
Knitting Weather: Fading Memories...
http://knittingweather.blogspot.com/2008/09/fading-memories.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2008. This post is way overdue. Back in July, I promised. That I would let you know how I fared at our Moebius Knitting Retreat. On the shores of Lake George. As it gets colder and darker here, I am happy to remember those warm halcyon days of summer. My sisterly patience made up for my lack of teaching skills; everyone had a moebius cast on by the end of the first full day and knit diligently . Until they were finished! For a close up of Hilary's beauty! Aaak, my arms! Your knit...

THE SUBJECT AT HAND. If a tree falls. Sunday, April 17, 2016. To write in this space because. People hike to the river in order to take a picture of themselves at the river. And when I was an English major in college I couldn’t read. Because I knew my laptop was tucked away in my desk drawer. I could sense its vibrations. I don’t want to see the trees budding in Logan Square and think about. What filter would make it pretty enough for everyone to realize how pretty my life is. I would still rather a world.
