There is a something in us that makes us desire to connect. With a language barrier - that desire is huge. At first, we were very "flat" - we could only say "Hi, how are you? I'm fine, and you? Now, as great as that is, saying that over and over and over again can make a person want to scream - "there is more to me than this!

Pam was asked these questions by a student in University. 1) How long have you been serving as a missionary and have you been in the Dominican the whole time? We arrived in the Dominican June 7, 2010 so a little more than 9 months. We will be having our first furlough in October 2011 for about a month or so. We plan to be in the States once a year for a month. So 11 months out of the year we are in the Dominican.
