Thursday, 31 May 2012. There are conflicting reports about the runners or suckers around the base of the tree. Some sources offer that they will not produce fruit, instead just forming a thicket of plum bracken around the roots. But I have also been told that they can be propagated - spade them off the roots and you have a proto plum tree.
