Thursday, November 8, 2007. Diwali, or Deepavali, is the Hindu festival of lights. While the festival is celebrated in different regions of India for different reasons (such as Rama's return from exile, Krishna's triumph over the demon Naragasura, the marriage of Vishnu and Lakshmi, or the defeat of the evil King Bali by Vishnu), it is a universal reminder of the power good has over evil. So Happy Diwali everyone, and celebrate responsibly! Saturday, October 13, 2007. Wish you all a Happy Navarathi.

Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Is a new website, created by Hindus for Hindus! It is not affiliated with any organizations and is being created entirely by volunteers in the USA, Canada, and the UK! The conception of this idea took place between a group of users on Facebook. Who realized there was no comprehensive, easy-to-navigate, online source of information about Hinduism. But aren't there a ton of sites out there already? What's this new site supposed to achieve? And do all Hindus live in huts? Colleg...

~HinduHut~: Happy Navarathri!

http://hinduhut.blogspot.com/2007/10/happy-navarathri.html

Saturday, October 13, 2007. Wish you all a Happy Navarathi. Navarathri, or Navaratri in some langauges, literally means nine nights. During this time, Hindus celebrate the triumph of the goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. In his vanity, Mahishasura had not asked for invincibility against a female. Together, the three great gods created Durga, a beautiful goddess with ten arms. Thats not 'You' but 'Me') :p. Keep up the good work! October 14, 2007 at 7:07 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
