Our story starts in the high passes and steep-sloped valleys of the Hindu Kush. Our cloth is made at an elevation of around 5000 meters, right on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan in the shadow of Mt. Tirich Mir, the highest mountain in the world outside of the Himalaya-Karakoram ranges. The melt waters from Tirich Mir’s glaciers feed the streams in which our cloth is washed and treated. Our video showing the production of shu and the wonderful craftspeople who make it.
