Orphanage for the Blind

Orphanage for the Blind. We first visited the orphanage for hearing impaired children about 8 years ago. The director of that orphanage has been at his post of duty for several decades. On our last trip, he confided in us that he feared that he would be forced to retire because of his age. He obviously cares very much for each of the children and tries everything in his power to make sure every child receives the proper care and education. He proudly shows off the achievements of many of his students.

Orphanage for Children with Heart Conditions. April, 2011 was the first time we visited the orphanage for children who have heart conditions. The building is smaller than we expected. The director explained that there is a large waiting list of names, but only the more serious cases are taken in and treated at this orphanage. Funds are limited as well as space, but they were managing the best they could. The kitchen were all the food is prepared for the children and staff. This Orphanage needs you help.

Orphanage-Shool for the Blind. Many of the children that are in this school would not have a real chance to survive in the real world. At this school, the children stay in dorms all year. They only are allowed to go home for the holidays. At this school, the children learn to take care of themselves- dressing, washing and getting around. Academically, they learn to read and write Braille, along with a regular school curriculum. Return to the main page.

Orphanage for small children. Return to main page. We make sure that we bring along special treats for the children. On one rare occasion, we were allowed to enter the nursery. Several newborn were brought in straight from the hospital. The mothers did not want the children. The staff left us alone, which was very unusual.
