Hinton Hunt Vintage Wargame Figures. Our tribute to the heroic past is its armies in miniature, today." Recreating a 1970s Wargame army using 20mm vintage figures. Friday, 24 July 2015. Vintage Waterloo – Playtest. Today Roy and I finally got together for a playtest of Vintage Waterloo. The Emperor at his command post near La Belle Alliance. This is Roy's version of Napoleon and staff - very nice. Reille's corps getting ready to take on the British defending chateau Hougoumont. Vorwarts mein children, I ...

Vintage Waterloo – more photos. Here (in no particular order) are a few more photos from the Vintage Waterloo. Play-test game that Roy and I had last week. Remember that you can click on an image to zoom right in (I don't use the lightbox feature for that reason). Reille's corps, supported by heavy cavalry, move forward ...

Hinton Hunt Vintage Wargame Figures. Our tribute to the heroic past is its armies in miniature, today." Recreating a 1970s Wargame army using 20mm vintage figures. Sunday, 22 February 2015. Fall in the 42nd. Somehow I’ve managed to finish painting the Black Watch in the record time of only three months! I just need to finish the detail on the top of the flag poles and then base the whole lot up before they can take their place in the British order of battle ready for Vintage Waterloo. Many will be genuin...

Hinton Hunt Vintage Wargame Figures. Our tribute to the heroic past is its armies in miniature, today." Recreating a 1970s Wargame army using 20mm vintage figures. Wednesday, 8 July 2015. Roy just sent me these pictures of his new French cavalry units based up and ready for Vintage Waterloo. Excellent - loads of Curiassiers, just what we need but we may have a bit of a problem fielding two Napoleons! Impressive stuff I’m sure you’ll agree – well done that man! Wow Thats a serious collection of horse men.

Hinton Hunt Vintage Wargame Figures. Our tribute to the heroic past is its armies in miniature, today." Recreating a 1970s Wargame army using 20mm vintage figures. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. This casting is probably a David Clayton one rather than a vintage Hinton Hunt one although it’s very hard to tell – all the Clayton personality figures I have are indistinguishable from vintage ones. The horse though is more easily identifiable as Clayton due to the one long plug mark along the base (vi...First time Iv...

Garage-gamer: March 2012

An informal look at the people who visit, and the games that are played in my garage. Tuesday, 6 March 2012. The Italian Division which along with the Polish Division comprises the French left wing. These are mostly Old Glory figures interspersed with a few from Front Rank and were all painted by Dom. The Austrian side of the battle, a picture of general withdrawal with, in the bottom of the shot signs of Steve's Swiss troops pursuing the Austrian left wing. Links to this post. An informal look at the people who visit, and the games that are played in my garage. Sunday, 18 December 2011. It was a slow, quiet evening at the garage on Thursday. Our ad-hoc game had pretty much run its course and we were all aware that we needed to have everything put away before starting the next campaign battle which as I previously mentioned pits the Austrian juggernaut against a handful of Bavarians. A Brigade of Hesse-Darmstadt troops take position in and around a village. That's about all for...

Unfashionably Shiny: Fantastic Soldered Soldiers
http://unfashionablyshiny.blogspot.com/2014/05/fantastic-soldered-soldiers.html
Thumbing its' nose at black undercoat and matte varnish. Sunday, 4 May 2014. The above are a sample of the British Legion dragoons Doug Mason created for me last year. Despite there being only 2 castings in the Hinchliffe range (an officer and trooper) Doug has created a unit of 24 figures where each is different. Of all the conversions i think the trooper with pistol and dangling sword is my favourite, and something of a Mason trademark. Beautiful work Doug. Mr Mason is a very talented chap!

Thumbing its' nose at black undercoat and matte varnish. Saturday, 27 July 2013. Right lads, they want a kitchen extension, conservatory, and oak floors throughout. In more ways than one - the Black Company of Pioneers was one of the first all black units of ex-slaves raised during the AWI. Most loyalist units were mixed, and these chaps too were eventually integrated into the Guides and Pioneers. These loyal servants of the King are conversions of Connoisseur Egyptian artillerymen, tools by Minden.

An informal look at the people who visit, and the games that are played in my garage. Sunday, 26 June 2011. Our initial attempt at river sections sporting some of the bridges which the brave Allies will be using. The Prussian right wing lacking artillery support recoils from sustained French fire. The French left wing having fought off one half hearted assault awaits the next one. One of the small number of batteries so far deployed, firing on distant Prussian cavalry. Links to this post. An informal look at the people who visit, and the games that are played in my garage. Sunday, 3 June 2012. By mutual consent our latest game came to a slightly early end this week with a win for the Allies. The French gambit of throwing the majority of their strength in to an assault on their left nearly paid off but their weak right flank and centre were unable to hold on for long enough. Swiss and German infantry supported by lancers and hussars force back the Allied right wing. 3 June 2012 at 12:25.

Hinton Hunt Vintage Wargame Figures. Our tribute to the heroic past is its armies in miniature, today." Recreating a 1970s Wargame army using 20mm vintage figures. Thursday, 22 March 2018. Thanks to Ken, who sent me details of the flag carried by the Guard Marines, I have been able to complete my eagle-bearer for the unit. I used a reproduction casting of FN/4 Colour bearer (charging). Which is notably flimsy compared to vintage castings however as I’ve now run out of these he’s had to step in. Finally a...
