H is for Home. Vintage homewares, decor and lifestyle. No churn pistachio ice cream. Remember last week, I failed to use the bag of pistachios in my store cupboard? Well I’ve used them this week… well most of them, anyway. I’ve puréed them and whipped up a batch of pistachio ice cream adapting my basic no-churn ice cream recipe. Originally borrowed from Nigella. It tastes nothing like the pistachio ice cream you can buy in a supermarket (in a good way). 100ml/3½fl oz milk. Frac12; tin condensed milk.

Eclectic chairs and kooky cushions. Monday, 17 October 2011. My current obsession: Welsh tapestry blankets. For the last year I have been coveting Welsh tapestry blankets. I came across a maxi skirt at a vintage fair made from Welsh tapestry in gorgeous shades of olive green, black and white, and immediately cut it up and made it into cushions! You can see one here in our dining room. I'm not the only person to appreciate the design qualities of welsh tapestry. My preferred pattern is called Caernafon.
