Ken in Belize: Hurricane Harvey: What a letdown!
http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011/08/hurricane-harvey-what-letdown.html
Saturday, August 20, 2011. Hurricane Harvey: What a letdown! It was all kind of like that story.). In preparation for the Hurricane party that never happened, I made my signature blondie cookie bars, albeit with a few substitute ingredients that worked just fine. More unusual than substitute ingredients, though, was the substitute kitchen tools. We have no mixing bowls or 9X13 pans, so. I used a pitcher to mix it in instead! First you have your dry ingredients. Then wet ingredients on top of that. Meet t...

Ken in Belize: Meet the Team Part Four: Megan Swan
http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011/08/meet-team-part-four-megan-swan.html
Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Meet the Team Part Four: Megan Swan. So, with only two weeks left in Belize, I'd better pick up the pace on these "Meet the Team" posts or I'm going to run out of time to get to everyone! Today's victim, in part four of this continuing blog feature. She is very witty and also very smart. She just graduated this last winter semester from the Marriott School at BYU with a degree in Management with an emphasis in HR. When she's done here in Belize, she already has a job line...One l...

Ken in Belize: Some projects you haven't heard much about before!
http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011/08/some-projects-you-havent-heard-much.html
Friday, August 12, 2011. Some projects you haven't heard much about before! Skipping days of blogging is dumb. Anyway, sorry for no post last night. I was tired and decided to sleep. Let's begin with yesterday, then, shall we? Lots of pesky roots got in the way and had to be sawed out (or else hacked away by the broad end of the pick by yours truly). Opening up the unfinished soilet box to see what condition it was in (it wasn't very good). Can you find the frog we found inside? Today was another compute...

Ken in Belize: July 2011
http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 31, 2011. So, yes, this makes 3 posts in one day. I posted my summary of Thursday and Friday earlier today and just posted my "Meet the Team" post for the day, spotlighting Pete Harris. Now I'm finishing my catch-up work by posting for yesterday and today! If you remember from the Thurs/Fri post, I was very sick all night between Thurs and Fri and into Friday morning. I was wiped out all day and continued to sleep through the night! Yesterday was no exception and indeed had another purpose a...

Ken in Belize: So...
http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011/08/so.html
Tuesday, August 9, 2011. So, have any of you noticed how often I begin my posts or even multiple paragraphs within one post with the word "so"? I've started to notice this unacceptable abuse of an unnecessary word, and will try my best to reform. I have 2 weeks left in Belize to finish up the projects I'm leading while helping others finish up their own projects. It is crazy to think how little time is left and yet how much we have planned to make happen in those 2 weeks! Don't open until your birthday!

Ken in Belize: Meet the Team Part Five: Jacob Tonks
http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011/08/meet-team-part-five-jacob-tonks.html
Sunday, August 14, 2011. Meet the Team Part Five: Jacob Tonks. Once again I take some time for the recurring blog feature, "Meet the Team" to spotlight each team member one at a time so you can all learn more about the fantastic people I work and live with! Can you find the iguana? Careful- I think he's trying to blend in with Jake's shirt! He starts his freshman year at BYU this next semester and after a year will then be going on his mission. Can you believe that? Jake is here along with his older sist...

Ken in Belize: Futbol!
http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011/08/quick-post.html
Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Today was great but largely another computer day. Today's post will be especially brief. I worked a lot on the Succotz tourist map and have a preliminary draft done that I'm very pleased with. It reflects a lot of the data gathered in our recent "business tracting" venture in Succotz, organized and filtered for the most relevant entries and information. Take a look:. Can you find Iguana Rd? We also had computer class and it went great! These are the cones and pegs we set up.

Ken in Belize: Succotz Revenue Generation Project Phase One: DONE!
http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011/08/succotz-revenue-generation-project.html
Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Succotz Revenue Generation Project Phase One: DONE! Sorry for no post yesterday. At the end of the day I just had lots and lots of little loose ends to tie up for things related to school and my business back in the states and I just never found the time to blog. However, yesterday is pretty easy to summarize. In the morning, 7 of us went to Succotz to finish up the business tracting project there, and finish we did! A loverly street sign in San Ignacio. Not sure what the ori...

http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011/08/meet-team-part-six-rin-hardy.html

Rin is the one smiling BEHIND the little boy. :). Rin is the only team members other than the country directors and Lindsay (who is married to one of the country directors) who came for all three waves- spending 4 months in Belize total! Labels: Meet the Team. August 20, 2011 at 10:45 PM. Rin sounds great. Wow! All summer, what an amazing experience.

Ken in Belize: Getting Plastered
http://keninbelize.blogspot.com/2011/08/getting-plastered.html
Wednesday, August 17, 2011. The lighter layer was done on Monday. The darker layer is from today. That building sure is getting plastered, isn't it? Kyle gives some individual attention to Lancelot. Besides all of that, my other work for the day was all more boring computer stuff again, like usual- just trying to get everything done for my main projects. Well, I told you it would be short today, but hopefully you enjoyed the update, especially on the orphanage construction process. You crack me up. :D.
