Jason R. Sellers. History 298, University of Mary Washington. March 23, 2016. The trial of an Indyan called Nangenutch or Will : Race and the limits of sexual power in 17. This is the paper I presented at the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association’s 2015 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. It is based on research in the colonial records of New York, examining a 1667/8 rape case on Long Island involving a Montauk Indian assailant and an English woman. HIST 297, Fall 2014. In attending the History Symposium at Mary Washington University, I listened to the Exploration in Medieval and Renaissance History. The Second session of the Symposium I attended was the Boys to Men: Cultural Histories of American Mascalinity. Lauren had a good amount of knowledge and used her sources to describe this event in a time of civil discourse, and how it divided people even more, whether you were on Ali or Frazier’s side.
