The Goliad Markethouse Museum is located in an 1871 building. The building was first used as a markethouse for meat and produce vendors. It became home to the Goliad Fire Department and was the firehouse from 1886 until 1964. The Goliad County Historical Commission began operating the Markethouse Museum in 1967.
