The Art of Clothes: September 2012
http://theartofclothes.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 28, 2012. I have decided to part with some of my costume fabric stash. I just don't have the time I used to have to invest in some of these costumes and I would rather have a few to work on I really love and be able to finish them and start fresh with new fabric if I felt like it and not feel guilty about my big box of fabric I haven't used up! Here are a few I am parting with, I wanted to give you all first pick! Maid Marian Dress Fabric. Elizabeth Bennet Pelisse Fabric. My husband and...

Wednesday, May 13, 2015. I've found a new obsession with beaded knitting. As if knitting wasn't magic enough, add some sparkly beads in and *swish and flick*! But what I can show you.I am working on a shawl from The Unofficial Harry Potter Knits. It is so pretty! I'm loving it. I'm using mint pearl beads for the beaded parts. It's really fun! There are so many patterns in this magazine I can't wait to make! I already have yarn for Ginny's Cardigan. And Hermione's Time-Turner Mitts. Links to this post.

Jenni-Style!: August 2015
http://jenni-style.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I recently finished weaving a table runner for my Mom. . . I still need to block it and trim the fringe, but it's officially off the loom, and I'm very excited about it, as it's the largest thing I've woven yet! For this project, Mom expressed an interest in learning a bit more about weaving. So, I put her to work! The result is that my Mom is now thoroughly bitten with the weaving bug, and is now waiting for a loom of her own to arrive in the mail! The yarns I'm using are nothin...

Mining the Public | Adventures of a newbie public historian
Adventures of a newbie public historian. Multiculturalism Needs to Work: Public Historians of Color. Posted in Public History. By Courtney M. Baxter. During my oral exam (the final step in completing my Masters program), my adviser/program director asked me: “Do you think it matters that you’re an African-American public historian? 8221; I had a lot to say on the subject. Well that already seems like it was long ago and now I’m officially done with my Masters degree in public history. Approximately five ...

Dear costuming friends,. I started this web site many years ago, knowing very little about HTML, and before CSS was even really a thing. Over the years, I had fun learning some CSS, and even figuring out some JavaScript. Meanwhile, in "real life," I was working as a business analyst. Meanwhile, as I've learned so much more, I've realized that this little web site, once my pride and joy, was actually terrible, mostly in that it was using out of date HTML/CSS, and really never even properly using CSS to be...

Historically Fictitious
A pack of lies. Friday, July 18, 2008. In corporate life, I regularly collect news stories and pictures from 30 company locations in various parts of the world. I compile these bits of wisdom, inanity, and lameness into the bi-weekly Corporate News Update—a sort of half-baked electronic newsletter. Over a three-year-period, I've discovered at least one important thing: people in Sofia, Bulgaria have drastically different views of newsworthiness than their counterparts in Chilliwack, British Columbia.

Historically Fitted: Fashions of Years Gone By
He who ignores fashion ignores life itself." - Cecil Beaton. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Technology as material culture? How has technology changed the fashion world? How has technology changed how society views material things? Has the curation of style and persona on fashion blogs and social media sites shifted young society's perception of self-expression from how you dress to what you blog about or post pictures of? Using a hat pin for self-defence in 1904 = awesome. Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Is the ...

Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Monday, May 3, 2010. Monday, April 26, 2010. This is one of the newly invented limo buses for Chicago Limousine Company. Its sleek design puts a twist on the average rectangular limo. Its curvilinear shapes could actually be a new influence/motif on today's art. Monday, April 12, 2010. I read a lot a lot and I got the bright idea to look up cool book covers and I literally Googled "cool book covers" and came across this one lol. Monday, April 5, 2010. I am a huge Simpsons' fan!
