Once I Was A Clever Boy: Images of St Bridget of Sweden
http://onceiwasacleverboy.blogspot.com/2015/08/images-of-st-bridget-of-sweden.html
Once I was a clever boy learning the arts of Oxford. Is a quotation from the verses written by Bishop Richard Fleming (c.1385-1431) for his tomb in Lincoln Cathedral. Fleming, the founder of Lincoln College in Oxford, is the subject of my research for a D. Phil., and, like me, a son of the West Riding. I have remarked in the past that I have a deeply meaningful on-going relationship with a dead fifteenth century bishop. Thinking of visiting Oxford? Once I Was A Clever Boy. View my complete profile. Ashmolean Museum: Oxfordshire's Historic Archives - Homepage
Preserving and Enhancing Access to Historic Oxfordshire. Records of Archaeological Work held by the Ashmolean Museum. At the Ashmolean Museum five documentary archives have been identified, each associated with a major figure in the history of the archaeological investigation of Oxfordshire, c.1870 — c.1950. All of these archives are striking for the importance of the information they contain and for the current lack of knowledge concerning their contents in the public domain.
Historic Oxford Tours
Oxford and the English Reformation. Oxford in the Age of Shakespeare. Although William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was not a member of the University he does appear to have travelled through Oxford on his journeys between London and his native Warwickshire. In the years after 1602 he is known to have stayed with the Davenant family at their inn here on these occasions. This tour concentrates on what he would have seen and the character of the city and University during his lifetime. Charles I and Oxford.

Pagoda
Pagoda in the world. Multiple Layers of Meanings. A pagoda has widely come to be understood as a Buddhist religious monument of several tiers. They have a peculiar and unmatched appearance and are invariably associated with Buddhist religious places of worship. Even though many of them are highly ornate and embellished, their artistic aspect is always secondary to their sacred status in Buddhism.
