Life is Not Fair. I have occasionally heard my children say those 3 little words, “ It’s not fair. 8221; I tend to give them the same answer my mom gave me. “ No one ever promised you that life would be fair. 8221; Recently I have decided to add a little something to my answer. Life isn’t fair. But my kids fall FAR. On the “fair” side of things. Today was like a slap. Sanele and his 19 year old sister, Busi* were orphaned in 2006 when both parents died. Extended relatives in Bhekulwandle took them in...

Um Not my most favorite topic. I have quite a disdain. I remember as a child helping my mom pick ginormous ticks off of our dogs and then squash them on the driveway, leaving little blood stains all over our drive. Gross. I sort of enjoyed doing it as a child – but not so into the tick squashing now! On to the kitchen – my life#10. Welcome back to my home! Well, at least in a virtual. Sense I would so love to host any of you who would like to visit! Ears, Elise, A Wolf, and Theatre. Like us on Facebook.

What’s for lunch. Sandwiches, leftovers, meat pie? Ummm…. nope, none of the above…. One of my dear, amazing, lovely colleagues had this. Look what is for lunch! Yes, that is a chicken’s foot at the top of this yummy curry. And no, I wasn’t. Brave enough to try it. A local delicacy is called “walkie talkies.”. Chicken feet and beaks. They say it is delicious. I am not convinced. 4 Responses to Walkie Talkies. June 3, 2015. June 3, 2015. I will let you know if I ever try it! June 3, 2015. June 3, 2015.

Nate’s prayer over lunch today was something like this. Thank you for my awesome family. Thank you that we have enough food to eat. Thank you that everyone in my family loves me. Thank you that we don’t struggle to live. That is my 9 year old son, recognising the gifts. He has in his life. Sometimes I have to look again to see the gifts, because I get a bit jaded, tired, unhappy, or discontented. But I am blessed. Each Thursday morning, as I look out my kitchen window – between the bars. I need to see th...
