Hive #2 produced another swarm yesterday. That's 4 swarms in 3 years from the same hive. This time they came to rest on a pine branch about 25 feet up. Adventures in TN Beekeeping. The beekeeping journal of Mike and Sandra McDonald. Saturday, May 31, 2008. Encouraging signs all around. The clover is blooming and the bees aren't fooling around. This photo shows a frame taken from the first honey super on hive #4. There are four supers on that hive now. Next week, after the frames in the first super are all capped, I will remove the queen excluder. Hive #1 is nearly back to full population and has begun filling two honey supers.
