Tossing Paper: You kids get off my lawn!
http://tossingpaper.blogspot.com/2011/05/you-kids-get-off-my-lawn.html
Tuesday, May 3, 2011. You kids get off my lawn! I spoke with a woman earlier who needed her school records from the '70s. Requests for school records are supposed to be submitted online - it's faster and easier both for the students and for us. Instead of the usual response ("It's online now? I received a torrent of shouting into the phone: "I don't. Use the internet, I won't. Use the internet, I resent being forced. To use the internet for everything! May 3, 2011 at 9:13 PM. Tossing Paper: Oh Happy Paris!
http://tossingpaper.blogspot.com/2011/06/oh-happy-paris.html
Wednesday, June 8, 2011. I've been to Paris once. It was wonderful in the way that only Paris can be. And it was also kind of miserable. It was February and it was freezing cold - add to that the dinky, dark hotel that was nearly impossible to find (I spent a long time wandering the streets looking for it), and the fact that when I checked in, they informed me in broken English that the heat was broken. And so was the hot water. Carousel, right down to the accordion music. That's another bad Paris memory.

Tossing Paper: October 2010
http://tossingpaper.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 28, 2010. A friend of mine recently took a trip to Bali and brought me back one of those big rectangles of fabric that are used as wraparound skirts. Well, they're a bit impractical to wear on a regular basis, so I altered it a bit. Introducing: the Bali Skirt. It's the first time I've ever worked with a zipper. I thought it was going to be terrifyingly complicated. It was actually very simple. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Her Five Year Diary. Once Upon a Ladybug.

Tossing Paper: April 2011
http://tossingpaper.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. It seems so unfair that the sun should be shining today, after such a terrible night. I know that life still goes on, that there are worse terrors and disasters out there. I can't expect the whole world to stop for this. But it still feels as though it should, that even the sun and the sky should pause for just a moment to acknowledge the suffering. Thursday, April 14, 2011. This dress is perfect. The shape. The bow in the back. The soft watercolor print. View my complete profile.

Tossing Paper: March 2010
http://tossingpaper.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Salt, Cooking, and a long treatise about Time. I love to cook because I love to eat. I love food that is fresh and flavorful, and the canned/packaged/prepared stuff just doesn't cut it. Call me spoiled. I grew up with a stay-at-home mom who cooked nearly every day. Our one-income family of four didn't have the funds to eat out very often, so eating out was for special occasions. I probably took for granted the wonderful meals that Mom prepared day in and day out. Many, many other...

Tossing Paper: July 2010
http://tossingpaper.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 1, 2010. Pancakes in a can? We found this pancake-batter-in-a-can and we had to try it. I mean, aerosol pancakes. How cool is that? We tested it out not long ago. So now, for your viewing pleasure, this is Pancake #1. Notice how Andy reads every single ingredient. It's almost like having the can right in front of you! Though Pancake #1 was a bit thin and sickly, Pancake #2 turned out much better. It's like a breakfast superhero! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
