mattinseminary: October 2010

Friday, October 22, 2010. Forgetting What's Really Important. I'm currently in the middle of writing a paper for one of my classes, and a thought ran through my head that I wanted to make sure I got down. The paper is for my Apologetics class and my topic is "The Kalam Cosmological Argument". I'm not going to try to explain it entirely here (that's my 7 page paper I'm currently writing). Howevever, here's the basic argument:. 1 Nothing begins to exist without a cause. 2 The universe began to exist. Yep, ...

mattinseminary: August 2010
http://mattinseminary.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 21, 2010. I've never found much interest in the book of Psalm, until recently that is. I've been finding that when God seems distant, the only place we can turn to is the past to remember God's faithfulness. Here's Psalm 77 in The Message. It's the first thing I flipped today, and probably more than enough for me to ponder all week. I yell out to my God, I yell with all my might, I yell at the top of my lungs. He listens. I found myself in trouble and went looking for my Lord;. You showe...

The Brummers: March 2012
http://ic-brummers.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Back from my blogging hiatus. So it's been a month since I blogged last. Sorry. Life's been crazy! Wyatt and Henry are getting so big! Wyatt's fine motor skills are really starting to improve - the other night he made an elephant out of Play-doh and it really did look like an elephant! And when we ate at a restaurant the other day, he worked really hard at coloring in the lines. Definitely a big boy! Henry's so close to being one! He's got one tooth in, and working on his second.

The Brummers: April 2012
http://ic-brummers.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 6, 2012. Henry is one year old! Henry is one year old today! I can't believe how fast the year has gone by. Little man has two little teeth now, and a bit of a cold this week. He's started to wrinkle his nose now when I tell him to say "cheese! Birthday breakfast of pancakes at J's. And Grandma and Wyatt were there! Then, after lunch he had a cupcake from Scratch to celebrate his birthday. What a silly guy! I think he liked it! Happy birthday, Henry! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Brummers: November 2011
http://ic-brummers.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 6, 2011. Henry is 7 months old! Henry, you are seven months old! You are changing every day and learning new things. You are starting to Army crawl and roll to get to things. Yesterday I saw you get up on your knees for a few seconds for the first time! I'm in no hurry to see you crawl because we are going to have to do some massive baby-proofing, especially some of Wyatt's little toys! I love you, my brown-eyed boy! You are such a sweetie! Thursday, November 3, 2011. I am a dentist, mom...

Thursday, January 19, 2012. What I Hate About Christian Blogging. There's something I hate about blogging with the intent to share my faith, journey with the Lord, and the lessons he's taught me. What is that something? Blogs are terrible at communicating these deeply important messages. Don't get me wrong- I have some very awesome friends that have written some incredible things on their blogs. Yet, sometimes I wonder if a blog is a poor place to share my most important messages. A blog can communicate ...

The Brummers: October 2014
http://ic-brummers.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 5, 2014. So I didn't get the blog up yesterday, but it works out perfectly as I have two special little blessings to be thankful for! I had a great weekend with my two boys, and I am beyond thankful to be their mommy. 4 - I am thankful for Wyatt. This kid makes me smile! He asks really deep questions, has a tender heart, is very creative, and loves to be busy running around! He just started kindergarten this year, and he is loving it! 5 - I am thankful for Henry. He is a tough guy, loves ...

The Brummers: December 2011
http://ic-brummers.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 31, 2011. So I've taken a little blogging hiatus - not on purpose really, but I've just been caught up in the busyness of the month! We started off the month of December with my work Christmas party at Montage. We had a very nice evening and Aaron called the bingo game for all of the employees. :). Our little family of four celebrated Christmas a little early this month - we wanted to spread out the presents and the kids don't know any different yet. So serious about opening presents!

mattinseminary: Picked Last For Jesus' Team
http://mattinseminary.blogspot.com/2011/08/picked-last-for-jesus-team.html
Saturday, August 27, 2011. Picked Last For Jesus' Team. I'm one of those kids. You know, one of those kids that sometimes got picked last at recess to play soccer, football, or basketball. It's a bummer. Imagine watching Jesus on the mountain. "Simon, you're in. James and John, yep." With each name the blood pressure must have been rising in the crowd. Will my name be on there? Matthias and Joseph were the last two men who had been with Jesus and the disciples since the beginning. They didn't give up hop...

mattinseminary: What is Faith?
http://mattinseminary.blogspot.com/2011/08/what-is-faith.html
Tuesday, August 16, 2011. In Andy Stanley's book, Visioneering, he writes. Spiritually speaking, faith is confidence that God is who he says that he is and that he will do what he has promised to do.". At first glance, this might not seem like that revolutionary of an idea. Sure, we need to believe in God-blah, blah blah. Read it again. ".faith is confidence that God is who he says he is. And that he will do what he has promised to do. So, what should we as Christians do to plug into what the Holy Spirit...
