Poetic Desperation: Newsweek's mediocre Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe article
http://poeticdesperation.blogspot.com/2011/11/newsweeks-mediocre-michelle-williams-as.html
Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Newsweek's mediocre Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe article. God forbid an article about Michelle Williams taking on the role of Marilyn Monroe. One of the greatest actresses of her time, who died of a drug overdose - should mention the fact that Williams' former husband - Heath Ledger. One of the greatest actors of his time - also died of a drug overdose. It is what it is, which is to say not much. My Week with Marilyn. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Calliope Nerve...

Wendy Wimmer Dot Com › Righter Conference
http://www.wendywimmer.com/2011/05/righter-conference
Wendy Wimmer Dot Com. Writing. Banter. Toast making. So obviously, I chose to go to Indiana. And as a writer, he’s a genius. I don’t. I’d be reduced to stammering nonsense talk in the presence of Chaon that I know I would with Irving, Boyle or Atwood, but, you know, it just might happen. Kill me now, please, and save me from spending the fossil fuels to drive to Bloomington. This was written by Wendy. Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 7:09 pm. Tagged body image story. Wendy Wimmer Dot Com. Writing. Banter. Toast making. You could be anyone. Oh you guys, the Indiana University Writers Conference was so awesome. I can’t even begin to tell you how awesome it was. Everyone was awesome. Awesome. It’s an overused word, but I mean it in the truest sense: I am full of awe. How normal people make the scotcheroo filling and then press it into a pan and cover it up with melted chocolate chips? Bliss with scotcheroo pile cookie things. I also made new writing friends. They ar...

Wendy Wimmer Dot Com. Writing. Banter. Toast making. Tag Archives: Dan Chaon. What I did on my summer vacation. Sunday, July 29, 2012. This summer, I have been awash in the fiction world. At least, as awash as I ever get, which is probably a bit more like a Wet Nap dabbed lightly over my brow. In June, I attended Writer Camp in Indiana once more. Last year’s was so magical that I couldn’t resist applying, especially […]. Also tagged "Lower Midnight". Best American Short Stories. Sunday, April 29, 2012.

Poetic Desperation: Ruth Ishbel Munro's "Jacuzzi"
http://poeticdesperation.blogspot.com/2010/11/problem-with-men.html
Sunday, November 21, 2010. Ruth Ishbel Munro's "Jacuzzi". Few things are more thrilling than having a piece of your writing illustrated by a capable artist, and while the story I had published a few years back by Suspense Magazine - " The Problem with Men. Never got that treatment, I can think of few more appropriate images than the one above by UK illustrator Ruth Ishbel Munro. Titled "Jacuzzi," I found the illustration while browsing at Laconic Oration. Which never seems to disappoint.
