A Work in Progress. Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Why My Children Do Not Ride the School Bus. It makes no sense to me that there is only one adult on a school bus. Yes, I know it costs money, but even so, my children will not ride a bus that has only one adult on it. Here's why:. 1 I find that 2 children can distract me when I'm driving. How much more distracting is it for a driver when he has 30 children? 4 It's safer for the driver if there are two adults. Then he won't be falsely accused of anything.
