The work schedule is planned at the Friends' monthly meetings and is agreed with Eastleigh Borough Council. The schedule is in accordance with the Borough Council's Management Plan for Hocombe Mead. October, November and December task days were spent coppicing. Our current plans for the forthcoming task days are:. Clearing Invasive species - Rhododendron and Holly. Forming a butterfly corridor between the North and South meadows. Repairs to the steps at the Ashdown Road end of the upper path.

Improving the path from the Ashdown Road entrance. First we tidied up the area and laid down an underlay. This material allows water to drain but prevents weeds growing up into the path. We then had to barrow in some agregate to form the path. We then had the job of firming upo the path using a petrol driven compacting plate. How can I join?
