So here’s a smattering of what I’ve been up to the last three days that Mizzou has canceled classes (the first time in the school’s 172 years it has been closed for three consecutive days due to weather). Since my house is near a big park in CoMo (local abbreviation), and I haven’t been able to get out, I’ve been on the natural beauty/recreation angle of this storm. I’ve been emailing my best into the office. Go to the Columbia Missourian. A crack in the ice of Stephens Lake Park mimics a plant hanging o...

Reading reflection: Lamott – False Start, et. al. Categories: Picture Story Spring '11. Lamott starts off the “False Starts” chapter with a story about a painter that I really like. “He keeps covering his work over with white paint each time that he discovers what it isn’t, and each time this brings him closer to discovering what it is.”. I think this is the essence of a photo story. I begin by photographing what someone. Lamott continues, “When you write [photograph] about your characters, we want...

The Border War Continues | Katie Currid | Life Through My Lens
https://ktcurrid.wordpress.com/2010/01/27/the-border-war-continues
Katie Currid Life Through My Lens. January 27, 2010. The Border War Continues. There is almost nothing worse than a Kansas fan. Kansas fans jeer at a Missouri fan as he enters Allen Field house on Monday in Lawrence, Kan. Unless you count a Kansas victory. Kansas junior center Cole Aldrich jumps to block a shot by Missouri junior forward Justin Safford on Monday at Allen Field House. Junior Kansas guard Tyrel Reed snags a rebound from sophomore forward Laurence Bowers on Monday at Allen Field House.

Having National Geographic photographer Peter Essick talk to the class was nice. He showcased a lot of his environmental photographic stories, starting from his earlier days with the publication up to recent projects he is currently working on. One Day Story – Back to Les Bourgeois | robson abbott

One Day Story – Back to Les Bourgeois. For my one day story I spent a day with the Jacob Holman, the wine maker at the Les Bourgeois vineyard in Rocheport, Mo. On this day, Jacob spent time preparing wine for tasting in his lab. He then went over to the new production facility to switch the 2011 vintage of Pink Fox – made from Catawba grapes – from one tank to another. This entry was posted on February 17, 2012 by Robson. Trupti Rami Photo: Audio Slideshow
http://truptirami.blogspot.com/2011/04/audio-slideshow.html
Did a great audio slideshow. On Leonard Knight, a man who has spent the past 25 years painting in the Imperial Valley desert. The photography is beautiful. I definitely noticed how photographer Don Bartletti uses the fill technique while shooting in the desert. Posted by Trupti Rami. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
