This goes along with another belief of mine: that everyone else my age is an adult, whereas I am merely in disguise. Tourists don’t know where they’ve been, travelers don’t know where they’re going. If I had a large amount of money I should certainly found a hospital for those whose grip upon the world is so tenuous that they can be severely offended by words and phrases and yet remain all unoffended by the injustice, violence and oppression that howls daily about our ears. gasoline rainbows: December 2012

Patrick and I have been able to see and do and experience so many things this year for our work that it's been difficult to wrap my mind around what we get to do for a living. To photograph my life.

Monday, July 23, 2012. Between everything yourself and home. I know my grandparents (shown in the above photo, taken shortly before they immigrated) made a monumental decision to come to Canada in search of a better life for their children and grandchildren. Post war Europe was too raw, too hard, too painful for them to remain and so they found their way across an ocean, across a continent to scratch out a life from the dry prairie. Canadian Citizen Privacy Breaches. And even more frightening egotism.

On books, adventures, and other stuff. As my 2010 New Year's Resolution, I decided to read all the books gathering dust on my bookshelves that I've never read before. The original blog post is here. I came up with the plan while at my parents' house for Christmas and without my bookshelves to stare at. I was horrified to get home, make my list . and end up with a fifty-nine book reading list for the year. Each title is linked to its reviews, below . Adventures in Missing the Point. Children of the Day.
