Looking at Los Angeles through toys, phones, 'real' cameras, digital and film. Monday, February 27, 2006. I'm not really sure what I was thinking when I took this a few weeks ago. You'd think that after dabbling in photography for the better part of 30 years I'd know better than to shoot right into the sun. I don't recall the moment I shot this, but my only guess is that the sun was, in fact, obscured by the clouds as I was driving. In any case, the next image. Posted by Jonathan Diamond at 10:02 PM.

Looking at Los Angeles through toys, phones, 'real' cameras, digital and film. Sunday, January 28, 2007. I missed the Holga. Posted by Jonathan Diamond at 9:45 AM. Wednesday, January 24, 2007. Blame it on the film. Shot almost all film - with a new Holga. And an ancient Canon SLR - over the last month, and the results finally arrived. I pulled out the old Canon FTb. My first camera now nearly 30 years old ( sheesh. And have been lugging it around downtown. To do with those 30 years. Market on Alvarado ju...

Looking at Los Angeles through toys, phones, 'real' cameras, digital and film. Wednesday, December 21, 2005. There is something barren about this place, and having lived here for several years now I can see why I'm reminded so often of those science fiction movies I watched as a kid in the '70s. The Civic Center (does anyone who does not work downtown know what the Civic Center is? Architecturally unimaginative (to be kind), it's sole appeal is in the large murals (are they mosaics? Looking at Los Angeles through toys, phones, 'real' cameras, digital and film. Sunday, February 11, 2007. Back to the Beach. Sunset, La Jolla. The sign says "No Alcohol.". Posted by Jonathan Diamond at 9:08 PM. Wednesday, February 07, 2007. Stopped at a traffic light on Santa Monica Boulevard in East Hollywood, I saw this little tableau: a kid intent on an iPod. Was sitting right there next to me. Do I wish it were sharper, tighter, more vibrant? Sure, but what you see is what you get. Like these surfers...
