shoeless: March 2008
http://shoelessval.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
It's a knitting blog.). Wednesday, March 19, 2008. And one month later. It's March. The snow is melting, crocus are popping, the days are lengthening- I love spring. What else do I love? I love books. I love new books. I love this book. And I'm in it: my Meathead hats, my brown slipper socks, and an afghan square.[excited giggle]. It's a beautiful book with sweet patterns, and lovely discourses on knitting communities. Writing and most of the patterns are from Larissa. No Do I sit and spin? Lastly, we ha...

Thursday, July 26, 2007. Knitting Glory at the County Fair! The blue tank on the left is my Brioche Bodice from IK Summer 2006 and that won a second in "women's pullovers." My Equestrian Jacket from IK Fall 2006 is next to it, sporting a blue ribbon in "women's cardigans, plain." The lovely tan pullover next to it isn't mine, but rounds out the picture, nicely. Mysteries and suspense abound! Will Harry live or die? Is Snape good or evil? Or Patti win the blue for socks? My fun Harry Potter "Weasley Sweat...

Monday, January 15, 2007. Where did I read the term, "creative loafing? I've been on the mend and when the spirit and the flesh were both up for it, I either knitted or read and that term rather describes my knitting. Here is Arwen's left front growth:. Posted by Patti at 10:16 AM. Wednesday, January 03, 2007. A Cardigan for Arwen. LOTR fans will know who that is, and others will now learn that Arwen is the elf princess from the Lord of the Rings who inspired the designer of this pattern. First, the feet...

Patti Purls: June 2007
http://pattipurls.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 25, 2007. There, my friend, is one of the best lookin' socks you'll ever see. Your blue ribbon is mine! You know who you are. Mwahaha! The elusive, camera shy equestrian blazer is in pieces, waiting for blocking before assembly. First, a good soak in the tub. Everything feels better after that. People are a lot like sweaters that way, don't you think? This soaked while I prepared lunch and went about my business for oh, say, 30 minutes. Then it was blocking time. Monday, March 26, 2007. Those socks ripped so fast I felt no pain for the time I had invested in them. Forget that nasty looking reinforced heel. It's history. They are shaping up to be the coolest socks I've ever made. They might be my sock entry in the fair this summer. Easter is coming and my new project is a spring cardigan from Knitty called " Otis. Posted by Patti at 5:26 PM. Knitting is my avocation. This is what I do when I have a choice in the matter. Make your own badge here. Patti sez, "This s...

Patti Purls: September 2007

Saturday, September 29, 2007. Or, should I say, Bridemaid's Choice, the Second? Be that as it may, I am once again knitting on this underappreciated, versatile pattern from IK Knits, summer 2001. This one has Nepalese recycled sari silk for the neckline and the entire body is black alpaca from All Strings Considered. I bought this stuff last summer at the Scandinavian Folk Festival. I showed it to Birgitta when I saw her at the Fingerlakes Fiber Arts Festival. Fingerlakes Fiber Arts Festival. The blue an...

Knitting And A Movie. Just another WordPress.com weblog. February 18, 2012. I wanted to make a strawberry hat. Mist was kind enough to model, even though her fur hasn’t grown back from when she got shaved before Christmas. She’s not very self-conscious. This is a better shot of the hat. February 17, 2012. Some old recycled sweaters became a birthday crown for a 3 year old this week. First Finished Object of 2012! January 21, 2012. Thursday, February 22, 2007. I am making the niftiest socks EVER. As much as I am enjoying knitting these I think I shall abandon them until I can get to a shop for something better for reinforcement. Maybe I'll start another pair in another sock yarn until then - something that doesn't require reinforcement! Posted by Patti at 2:25 PM. When I was in Atlanta I purchased a few inspirational balls of yarn at a lovely shop called Why Not Knit? Posted by Patti at 2:12 PM. Cast on: January 1, 2007. This is a ...

The crafty adventures of a SAHM living in the high desert of Southern CA and dreaming of sweater weather. Thursday, March 19, 2009. It is true. I have joined the dark side and drank the kool-aid (goes great with cookies BTW). Several members of my local knit/cro/spin group have recently taken up spinning. While most are becoming quite adept with drop spindles, some have gone so far as to acquire wheels! For their generous contributions and more enabling :). Melissa F. in CA. Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
