What was the big deal about Israel wanting a king? During the time of the book of Judges, the people seemed to be without direction and. Everyone did as they saw fit. The reason for this situation was repeatedly attributed to their not having a king, because other nations considered kingship as a natural way to organize and govern people. But Israel was different. It was actually a major change for them to have a king, and it was apparently not a step that God desired for them. As we continue following.
