Holli's ramblings: Chale Wote - festival for the hungry?
http://hollisramblings.blogspot.com/2011/07/chale-wote-festival-for-hungry.html
Monday, July 18, 2011. Chale Wote - festival for the hungry? For weeks my inbox has been bombarded with event invites, information, flyers and promotional blurbs about an upcoming Street Art festival in Accra. In Jamestown. The poorest, most densely populated ghetto in Accra. Not only was it strange to be getting email correspondence about a festival in Jamestown, but foreign embassies were involved and were even asking for volunteers for the day. One of the website. 8221; This was NOT on my agenda. ...
Holli's ramblings: Farewell Ghana - Hello new adventures
http://hollisramblings.blogspot.com/2012/04/farewell-ghana-hello-new-adventures.html
Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Farewell Ghana - Hello new adventures. Boarding a plane from my suburban Canadian home so many years ago, with my three year old little boy, and our few worldly belongings in tow, I knew I had chosen adventure, the unknown, the road less traveled. My rearview mirror sees Ghana closer than she appears. Though we left her humid shores over five months ago, my time there was a lifetime. Perhaps more. In Ghana I faced corruption and compassion, grit and beauty, poverty and richness...

The Eccentric Ramblings of a Creative. Long Walk in Sunlight. Newer posts →. Much Ado About Nothing. August 2, 2010. I’m one of those people that have tried like. To get the blogging thing right and have managed to suck. Sounds like a good idea. Finding that ever elusive blogging voice as it was so aptly put by some woman, in a forum, on some website, has been my own kind of personal hell. One where I swear to. Seeing how I’m like on my 9th blog and have had it for more than six months now – ...I’m...
Penny Traveller: November 2009
http://pennytraveller.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, 9 November 2009. Preparing for a Getaway! It's 5 days more till I whisk myself off to a getaway holiday! And the usual excitement is there, planning what to do (I love to do research before going, call me kiasu but I don't want to miss out on great activities! I'm not sure how this 'sudden' change of perspective came about. Did my eyes consume too many of the cheap, slutty, slimming ads? Have I been around too many skinny models? Or do I suddenly have higher standards for myself? Oh no not many!
Penny Traveller: September 2010

Thursday, 9 September 2010. Vietnam - An odd collection of pix. It's been quite some time since I headed down to Vietnam, I just couldn't find the time to write about it. So I think I'll upload pix instead and let them do most of the talking. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words isn't it? But then again some say pictures are also very misleading so I will oblige with one or two comments for the pictures. Somewhere in town, I chanced upon a road that sells just shoes, shoes, shoes. My homestay r...
Penny Traveller: Broken Run
http://pennytraveller.blogspot.com/2010/07/broken-run.html
Saturday, 31 July 2010. I count my lucky stars everyday. I take a ride with positivism. I run a steady run. Sharp rocks seem like pebbles. White waters like streams. I count my lucky stars everyday. Because I can still see the silver lining. But I am tested oh so badly. When I see the closest to me. Who seemingly don’t deserve it. Has life handed on a golden platter. If it were a stranger. I’d shake my head and run on. Saying our lives are two worlds apart. Maybe they had it harsh, now God smiles on them.

The tales of a Ghanaian Swede in Accra. Entertainment, thoughts, outbursts, English, Swedish, it's all just basa-basa! Sunday, 22 March 2015. Love, life and laughter. I was so inspired I spent Saturday morning making a new playlist on Spotify. This smooth TLC song. Has been on repeat quite a few times today, can't believe I haven't listened to it for 15 years! Penny Traveller: Counting the days
http://pennytraveller.blogspot.com/2011/05/counting-days.html
Thursday, 26 May 2011. Have you felt work droning on an on, blending weekdays together in a mish mash? Stretched ahead of me :). Weekend's a little too short, will have to save this plan for later then. Why does the juicy parts of life always gets put away. It seems like the moments I look forward to nowadays are far shorter than the horrid journeys taken to reach the moment. And all too soon the moment passes again. Perhaps I need a paradigm shift. Perhaps my so called. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Penny Traveller: March 2011
http://pennytraveller.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Monday, 21 March 2011. I wanna be a college student again! Where I did assignments because I liked it. Nobody is my boss because if I fail I answer to myself. If I do well I praise myself. Where money was always short. But I wasn't afriad to find 101 odd jobs. Where life spread out like a big dream before it got tainted. Where all seemed hopeful, doubts were few. Penny Traveller: Kedondong Waterfalls - My second Waterfall Survivors Trip
http://pennytraveller.blogspot.com/2010/03/kedondong-waterfalls-my-second.html
Saturday, 20 March 2010. Kedondong Waterfalls - My second Waterfall Survivors Trip. From my last trip with Waterfall Survivors. I decided it's time to make another one. This time it was to Kedondong Waterfalls, somewhere between the Selangor and Pahang border. It was an early which started out very wrong, but ended pretty well! 1 Opening the car door and stepping straight into a pothole filled with dirty water. 2 Being at the wrong meetup point. 5 Did I just say trusty? 8 There is no #8. Funnily enough t...
Penny Traveller: June 2009
http://pennytraveller.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, 28 June 2009. Taking the road less travelled. I must say I have full respect for those who cut themselves from what's 'normal' and familiar to pursue their dreams. Recently, a friend did just that. He knew his calling. And it was not in his marketing job. While having an easy Sunday morning mamak breakfast with him, he casually blurted out that he has quit his job. I was astounded at first. He is or rather was. I remember many times, during orientations and surveys, I was asked who is your Idol?
