Sherrybella's Art Journal: Values!
http://sherrybellasart.blogspot.com/2011/04/values.html
Thursday, April 7, 2011. Oh no, first you discover you did not mix enough 5 for all the mixes needed to get the other mixtures AND have enough for a decent size puddle to paint with. Then what you think looks right in your puddles don't really have enough contrast with their neighbors when painted side by side to make a strip of values from 1-9. I will have to send my image to email, save to computer and upload cause I did not try to see how to upload from phone! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Sherrybella's Art Journal: New Lesson
http://sherrybellasart.blogspot.com/2010/05/new-lesson.html
Sunday, May 23, 2010. Ever wonder why the things you try don't turn out so well the first time around? Ever notice that the more you work with something, the easier it gets? Ever notice that the more you study the something you are working on the better you get at what it is you are doing? We started at 10am and at 2:30pm, I left without a painting but with a drawing. I could not believe what I was doing. There is a reason for discomfort in your life. It tells you there is a lesson attached. Runn...Subsc...

Sherrybella's Art Journal: June 2009
http://sherrybellasart.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 14, 2009. As I promised, I will share the critique with you. Here is the finished painting, but I cannot determine one of the typos offered in the critique:. I think you could be a little more varied with the edges, and a little closer with the drawing, but you did a really nice job on this. It looks completely convincing and has a nice style to it too. The pitcher is fantastic! You really did a great job jumping the values and getting a feeling of noth (what the heck is that? View my comple...

The Painting Bug: November 2007
http://jaynebpastels.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Another homework assignment: paint something white without using the color white. While on my morning walk with friends Mary Lou and Barbara, I pass this weathered lion at the end of a driveway. I liked the way he and the one remaining rose of summer both endure. Monday, November 26, 2007. Labels: I think Ill paint a little. Monday, November 19, 2007. Saturday, November 17, 2007. Friday, November 16, 2007. This is my first effort in completing the assignment to use middle valu...

The Painting Bug: March 2008
http://jaynebpastels.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 19, 2008. I've always loved this photo of my great-nieces and drew it once before in pencil. Today I decided to complete it in pastels. This is my first attempt at painting figures. Sunday, March 16, 2008. This one was a learning curve. This close-up of a yucca is on velour matboard. I wasn't very successful in achieving straight lines as a result of the surface nap; I think it would have worked better on Wallis and will probably try it soon, as I like the photo. Oh, well. Most of my fri...

http://sherrybellasart.blogspot.com/2009/08/cades-cove.html
Thursday, August 13, 2009. Sherry, I like this. Wish I could have been there to take the class with you. I so want to do a landscape. The mountains look great - love the cool colors. October 27, 2009 at 3:59 PM. You have really captured the feel of Cades Cove! I have enjoyed this visit to your blog and will be back soon! October 28, 2009 at 10:31 PM. Sherrybella's Art Journal: Still Life for painting class
http://sherrybellasart.blogspot.com/2009/08/still-life-for-painting-class.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Still Life for painting class. I suppose if I had chosen a view that looked down on the image more, that vase would look more vase like, but since it was tall, all I could see at eye level was the top and not inside the vase. Should I have cheated and drawn and painted the inside of the squared vase? I don't know.it is just practice. But it was fun cause I got it done with help from Cheeko in 2 hrs.
