Quilting Jane at the Farm. Monday, June 27, 2016. I was learning to use Karen K Buckley`s perfect circles for my 1857. Sampler quilt and made few for here as well. I machine appliqued them using a white cotton thread. I used a wash away fusable for the tear drops. Above you can see the background fabric through the white, but below you cannot. Quilting Jane at the Farm. Thursday, October 2, 2014. Using the pre-cut 1 inch strips,. Cut 2 background pieces 1 x 4.5 inches. Cut 1 coloured strip 1 x 4.5 inches. Press to the dark. Trim the end of the unit to straighten the cut. Cut 4 units that are 1 inch wide. Now I am having difficulty formatting so bear with me. Cut 2 coloured strips 1 x 8.5 inches. Cut 1 background strip 1 x 8.5 inches. Press to the dark. Cut into 8 one inch units. Lay out all the pieces like this. Pin It saves frustration later.
