Cagle Journey: November 2013
http://caglejourney.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
About family, life, and pursuing God. Saturday, November 30, 2013. The Eucharist, the Great Commission, and Destructive Leadership. Five Ways to Avoid This Destructive Approach:. 1 Listen first and listen well. 2 Love because a person is an image bearer of God and not simply as a means to an end. 3 Give freely with no strings attached. Bonus: Remember that Jesus saves, not you. Here is a portion of my script for facilitating the Eucharist this week:. We need only to let go and come. Therefore if you have...

Cagle Journey: hobbies
http://caglejourney.blogspot.com/p/hobbies.html
About family, life, and pursuing God. These posts follow things I'm interested in other than theology and family. You'll find stuff on carpentry, cooking, and other things I dream about. Nothing but Net.Worth. What Pope Francis Get's Right. I converted an old bedside table into a stove for the Q. I converted a tricycle into a bicycle. I spent $50 on supplies and wood for this bad boy. If you can make oatmeal you can make your own beer." We'll see. My ideas that I don't have enough guts to pursue.

Cagle Journey: Without Death There is No Resurrection

About family, life, and pursuing God. Sunday, February 9, 2014. Without Death There is No Resurrection. Good morning church. Give me a second to connect with each of you visually. As a personal hello. I think about you guys all of the time.I even pray for you some. I. Cannot express in words how refreshing it is to be back with you today. Once in the fourth grade I had to iron some clothes so I went into my mom's closet to. How significant my time at west hills was and how significant you are to me and my.

About family, life, and pursuing God. The weakness of these categories is that they oversimplify life. Being a good husband and father is certainly a theological and spiritual activity. Jake & Erin in Ecuador: to kompton and back
http://jakeanderininecuador.blogspot.com/2010/06/to-kompton-and-back.html
Friday, June 25, 2010. To kompton and back. This week Jake took a break from wood-chopping and I took a break from whatever I do that has been making me feel so busy lately even though I don't work or go to school, and headed east over the mountains to Spokane. Just for fun. It was our first visit in three years. The main purpose of our visit was pleasure, with sub-category Visiting with Friends Unseen in Too Too Long. It was very pleasant. Can you even take her precious little face? Last but not least, ...

Jake & Erin in Ecuador: on leaving
http://jakeanderininecuador.blogspot.com/2010/05/on-leaving.html
Wednesday, May 19, 2010. The time has come; Jake and I leave Ibarra next Monday, to fly out of Quito on Friday, May 28th. I have probably all the usual things to say: that I can't believe it, that we will miss it so much, that saying goodbye is awful, and that we are excited still for what lies ahead. Goodbye lemon trees, goodbye 40-cent red cabbage, goodbye vitamin D, goodbye girls, goodbye Patty, goodbye Juan y Esperanza. You have become so dear. Sounds kind of like Goodnight moon. Amy and Jonathan Hook.

Jake & Erin in Ecuador: gye
http://jakeanderininecuador.blogspot.com/2010/04/gye.html
Monday, April 12, 2010. Stalin and I receive our certificados at the end of the conference. I spent last week in Guayaquil. Big, sweaty, sketchy, Guayaquil. Still, I was glad to be there since the reason for my visit was to accompany a little rising star of my youth group, Stalin, to a workshop Peace Corps put on in conjunction with Fundación VIHDA. Still fun for those present, I think. The trip ended with a little drama that included a torrential downpour and us missing the night bus that we had purchas...

Jake & Erin in Ecuador: 4 years ago today
http://jakeanderininecuador.blogspot.com/2010/04/4-years-ago-today.html
Thursday, April 29, 2010. 4 years ago today. Erin and I were wed on a rainy Saturday on Mercer Island. Today we are celebrating our "fruits and flowers" anniversary by visiting a cheese factory outside Ibarra. It also strikes me as odd that our time in the Peace Corps has been almost half our marriage. We are mindful that our relationship doesn't exist in a vacuum and are thinking of family and friends today who were supportive of us four years ago and continue to nurture us today. Hugs from Nina and John.

Jake & Erin in Ecuador: February 2010
http://jakeanderininecuador.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 12, 2010. Tonight I accompanied my Ecuadorean counterpart, Patty, nutritionist and coordinator of the adolescent program with which I assist. We went to a pretty little school to give a talk on nutrition to a group of parents. Very important: use a wooden spoon in cooking at all times (this one got repeated a lot). If you use a metal spoon or whichever type happens to be in fashion, you will lose all the vitamins and minerals in the food that you are preparing.". PS A mom drove me home a...
