All committee meetings are held in the Tolly Room at the Brewery Tap pub on Cliff Road (near to Ipswich Docks entrance). Anyone is welcome to come along and have a say - the beer is good too! Holywells park has a long history going back thousands of years, tools from the stone age have been found on the site and Bronze Age axes and Roman coins have been found nearby. Early written records indicate that the land at Holywells was part of the Manor at Bishops Wyke which was held by the Bishops of Norwich in the 13.

Holy Wells of Cork. Not all who wander are lost. Ritual, Pattern, Pilgrimage. Holy wells of Cork. There are approximately 356 holy wells in County Cork at the last count (Archaeological Inventory of Cork). A few are still the site of pilgrimage, others receive occasional visitors and some are neglected, forgotten or have even disappeared. Some are tiny indents in natural stones, others have imposing wellhouses and some are fern-strewn basins hidden in the undergrowth. Shouldn’t they be remembered?
