Adventures of my family: December 2010
http://boilermakerfamilyt.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Adventures of my family. Friday, December 31, 2010. And coming in a super close third, was the completion of our home. Building finished mid-November and we were able to move in right before Thanksgiving. We have accomplished our dream of being able to live on an inland lake. We are beyond ecstatic. I don't think that 2011 will be as exciting, and that is ok, we could use a little bit of calm in our lives and some time to enjoy it. Happy New year and have a great 2011. Friday, December 24, 2010. Adventures of my family: October 2010
http://boilermakerfamilyt.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Adventures of my family. Sunday, October 31, 2010. I have never appreciated fall as much as I do this year. After experiencing my first South Carolina summer, I am more excited than ever to welcome the wonderful weather of fall. Besides the relief from the sun and temperature, I am excited for the flavors of fall. Apples: They just taste better in the fall. Fresh and local from orchards - yum! And we brought home some fresh cider and apple butter. Weather: Who doesn't love the fall weather? Can I get any?

Adventures of my family: March 2010
http://boilermakerfamilyt.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Adventures of my family. Wednesday, March 3, 2010. When D and I decided we were going to cloth diaper our little man, I knew I had to do my research on how to properly clean the diapers and keep my washing machine in top status. I turned to a wonderful resource The Eco Friendly Family Blog. This blog answered all of my questions about baby laundry, cloth diapering, eco friendly products, and saving money! What a winning combination. 3 Boxs Arm and Hammer Washing Soda (55 oz each). Soda, not Baking Soda&#...

http://boilermakerfamilyt.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Adventures of my family. Thursday, July 15, 2010. I don't post enough about food. I love food, I love flavors, I just love it all! 1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro. 1 sprig of green onion. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I am currently a SAHM to BabyD. I left my job as a chemist in PA when D took a new job in South Carolina. I decided to start this blog to chronicle my new adventures in cooking, sewing, pregnancy, motherhood, and just life down south. Oreo was the second addition to our family. We adopted ...

Adventures of my family: Babywearing
http://boilermakerfamilyt.blogspot.com/2010/09/babywearing.html
Adventures of my family. Thursday, September 30, 2010. To me babywearing makes a lot of sense. Babies need/want to be held, and frankly, it can just be plain tiring to hold them. There are so many options too, you'll be able to find the perfect way to wear your baby. Or you can be like me and like all the different methods for different tasks and keep exploring more and more options. :). The first thing I tried was a store bought soft carrier as modeled by D and BabyD below. As much as I liked the ring s...

Adventures of my family: January 2010
http://boilermakerfamilyt.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Adventures of my family. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Pasta - another experiment. But now with more time, I am determined to find new pasta dishes that don't rely on popping the top on a jar of sauce. I am also determined to make pasta dishes incorporating protein sources in order to please my wonderful husband. I came across another blog featuring a fun sounding pasta dish with shrimp and a tomato cream sauce. 1 lb penne pasta (or other similar pasta). 2 tbsp. butter, divided. 2 tbsp. olive oil, divided.

Adventures of my family: June 2010
http://boilermakerfamilyt.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Adventures of my family. Thursday, June 24, 2010. Baby D's birth story. Disclaimer: I have written my labor in detail for my own recollection. Consider this your warning before you read further! If it did not, I would need to be transferred to a hospital for monitoring. I had spent the last few weeks watching my diet even more closely and taking it easy. Trying to wait at home. At the birth center. It was supposed to help with the intensity, not magnify it. Can’t stop pushing! My midwives and D coached m...
