All Grain – The homebrew wizard
http://www.homebrewwizard.com/all-grain-3/all-grain
The homebrew site and forum. So you have made kits, made some partial brews with your own ingredients,. Maybe made a mini mash and are now wondering about all grain. I’m not saying that you cannot go straight to all grain but I personally would recommend that you do try kit brewing and partial before you go to all grain. The reason? Once sparged the wort is collected in the boiler ready for the next step. The wort collected is then heated up to a boil and hops are added at various times. The boil ena...

Sterilise – The homebrew wizard
http://www.homebrewwizard.com/basics/sterilise
The homebrew site and forum. The most important and crucial step in the brewing process is sterilising your equipment. When you lovingly make your brew and leave it to ferment you want the only micro organism in the fermenter and bottles to be the yeast. Sterilising all your equipment and your fermenter will ensure this is the case. Then rinse everything with cold water and place on the upturned fermenter lid while the wort is added to the fermenter. You can reuse it and you don’t have to rinse it ...
Coopers mexican cerveza – The homebrew wizard
http://www.homebrewwizard.com/tag/coopers-mexican-cerveza
The homebrew site and forum. This is the first kit i ever made and started me on a long road of homebrewing. This kit is a good place to start for a first brew. The kit is 1.7kg of malt extract and costs around 12, it comes with instructions and a packet of yeast, which is an ale yeast , so the ferment temperature is easier to control. This brew is easy to make. The ingredients required for this beer are 500gms dextrose and 500grms light dry spray malt extract. Tagged with: Coopers mexican cerveza. Enter...
Equipment – The homebrew wizard
http://www.homebrewwizard.com/basics/equipment
The homebrew site and forum. On this page I will go through the basic equipment needed to brew. There are many shops and suppliers which now do beginners kits for around 20. The kit i first bought cost me 16 and i still use it to this day, i have added to my tools of the trade but still use the basic kit. The fermenter is just a large plastic bucket with a lid which has a small hole in for the airlock. I use 5 litre water bottles for wine (85p from supermarkets). This is by no way an exhaustive list of e...

White IPA? | Ashby's Home Brewery
https://ashbyales.wordpress.com/2013/05/22/white-ipa
Ashby's Home Brewery. Homebrew adventures in Worcester. May 22, 2013. Time for something different for summer. I am basing this recipe around the beer Conflux 2 by Deschutes brewery which is meant to be a white IPA a sort of cross between a IPA and a belgian white beer I gather. They have quite a bit of information available on there site. So that was good to get started. Going to be adding 200g of bashed up lemon grass to the fermenter plus 20g of fresh sage. Final Volume: 23 Litres. Bravo 20g 60 Min.

Ashby's Home Brewery. Homebrew adventures in Worcester. November 8, 2013. Another beer I squeezed in over the summer was a Elderflower saison, this was brewed late june and I added 30g of elderflowers to the fermentor and left them there for five day before removing and bottling. The elderflowers worked really well with the Nelson Sauvin hop and the rye malt and created a great refreshing summer beer. Final Volume: 23 Litres. Original Gravity: 1.055. Final Gravity: 1.010.
