Story Moon: swallows
http://storymoon.blogspot.com/2011/06/swallows.html
There's a story moon tonight. Let's take a walk. Friday, June 3, 2011. The way swallows dip. As if suspended on slack lines. Swooped across the sky. Is how I dip and rise through my day. Almost peaks and valleys but smoother. There is nothing jagged about. The shallow slide into stale moments. The smell of coffee. Angry voices in the hall. The air underneath my feathers. Lifting me on the invisible current of a smile. A small hand on my calf. A minor triumph of the mind. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Story Moon: January 2014
http://storymoon.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
There's a story moon tonight. Let's take a walk. Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Protect them," I whisper, "keep them safe, healthy, happy, here. And then, inevitably, "give me another chance." Another day to try to get it right, to work harder, to be better. Another chance to be more - more patient, more kind, more fun. More of what they deserve. I murmur my mother's prayer, and then I sleep. Because tomorrow will be another day, and I promised to try. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Story Moon: October 2013
http://storymoon.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
There's a story moon tonight. Let's take a walk. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. You are so close to me now that I breathe you in,. Stumble over you,. Tangle in your moods. I pass time clenched in the frustration of long hours,. The enormity of an empty, rainy afternoon,. How slow these minutes trudge. I drown in you,. Heavy with my expectation. From the corner of my eye I see you. Leaning over empty space I long for in my sleep. The breath leaves my body,. Leaps after you into the void. I watch you sleep,.

Story Moon: August 2010
http://storymoon.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
There's a story moon tonight. Let's take a walk. Friday, August 6, 2010. Living near the beach definitely has its perks. Dangling toes in the waves? Listening to the gulls and terns? Picnics on the rocks in the evening? Eating handfuls of sand and chasing it with a pile of seaweed and some small rocks? Oh, definitely a perk. Not so much a perk. Monday, August 2, 2010. Miles had his first sailing adventure yesterday! It was . . . . interesting. Um, interesting. How is dinnertime in? And shiny is crap too.

Story Moon: Daily Gratitude
http://storymoon.blogspot.com/2011/06/daily-gratitude.html
There's a story moon tonight. Let's take a walk. Sunday, June 5, 2011. 1 Falling asleep accidentally at 8pm, and then deciding to just go with it and stay in bed for the night. 2 The smell of lilac in a thunderstorm. 3 Miles' perfect pronunciation of the word "bubble". 4 The fact that Miles think the word "bubble" means fruit. 5 Brown cowboy boots. 6 Being able to talk to teenagers about drugs and sex and fights and also striped sweaters and parody music and childhood pets. 9 Mason jars and driftwood.

Story Moon: September 2010
http://storymoon.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
There's a story moon tonight. Let's take a walk. Thursday, September 30, 2010. 15 Things I Don't Like. 3 The sound stuff makes scraping against the ice that grows on the inside of the freezer. *shudder*. 4 Phonetically spelled names. 6 Saying something bitchy and having the other person act all understanding and patient. 7 Stainless steel appliances. 8 How your head gets itchy as soon as someone mentions the word "lice.". 9 Now I'm itchy. 11 Waking up too early to feel remotely functional all day long.

There's a story moon tonight. Let's take a walk. Monday, January 28, 2013. I remember standing in the shower around 38 or 39 weeks, balancing on the balls of my feet and letting the water run down my belly, watching it make little rapids around my convex belly button. I was having a conversation with Nola, laying out exactly what type of birth I wanted ("fast! What I promised to bring to the experience ("I'll push hard and try to avoid drugging you up! Story Moon: May 2011
http://storymoon.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
There's a story moon tonight. Let's take a walk. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. I scoop his small, hot body into the curve of mine (softer, much softer than it used to be), wiggle up, feel him latch on, or not feel it, anymore, really - my body desensitized to the feeling of small lips and teeth, or so sensitized to it that it's now like breathing - it happens, I can tell if I pay attention, but it's not something I notice. And still taking me by surprise. Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Or does everyone feel this way?
