The Muse is Loose!!: January 2009
http://themuseisloose.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
The Muse is Loose! A collection of writing by Kathy Ludwig. Thursday, January 22, 2009. Greta was not a shoe person. She generally purchased the basics, black, brown or navy on sale (or better yet clearance) or at the local big box store. It was truly uncharacteristic of her to covet anything like that. Oh, sure, she went for several weeks longing for a pair of Crocs before she finally gave in and paid the $35 for a pair of pink ones. What was she thinking? 35 dollars for a pair of plastic shoes? To appe...

The Muse is Loose!!: November 2008
http://themuseisloose.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
The Muse is Loose! A collection of writing by Kathy Ludwig. Sunday, November 30, 2008. The Ugliest Christmas Cookies in the County. Carol put up her dishtowel, sighed and looked around her clean-again kitchen. It was their annual Christmas cookie baking day. A tradition that started when her own children were small, now the day involved three daughters, seven grandchildren, herself and her mother, who stopped by every year just to enjoy the chaos. The kids retired to the family room to watch a favorite C...

The Muse is Loose!!: The Welcoming Pineapple Bed and Breakfast
http://themuseisloose.blogspot.com/2009/06/welcoming-pineapple-bed-and-breakfast.html
The Muse is Loose! A collection of writing by Kathy Ludwig. Sunday, June 14, 2009. The Welcoming Pineapple Bed and Breakfast. The Welcoming Pineapple was my dream for many years. I had a picture of a quaint B&B that I looked at and touched frequently for luck in my office 10 years before my retirement. A bed and breakfast simply sounded to me like the perfect place for all of my talents and interests to collide. It can be tricky, however, blending the old with modern conveniences. I mean, its one thi...

Not that I'm foolish enough to put away my winter clothes yet but I had the time, the opportunity and the motivation so what the heck! Today I went out into the yard and saw the following signs of spring: crocuses blooming in the side yard,. Tulips and daffodils growing all over the place:. Utside my kitchen window. I love the l...

Kathy's Korner: December 2009
http://kalludwig.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
A little bit about me and my family. Sunday, December 6, 2009. From Back to Work to Decking the Halls. It's been a long time! I've been busy adjusting to my new job (two months now), taking tax classes, trying to exercise and just keeping up. The tax class has been surprisingly hard - just a lot of time and effort. I've spent as much time on it as a college course. Hope it pays off! For those of you wondering how my political career is coming, I've got to tell you I came in dead last in the election!

The Muse is Loose! A collection of writing by Kathy Ludwig. Tuesday, October 28, 2008. A blank page. I don’t know if there is anything more promising yet terrifying all at once. There is nothing in the world like a brand new piece of paper, pristine and without flaw, waiting to be filled with extraordinary writing. A whole notebook full of such paper is an amusement park for the imagination. All the wonderful things that might be captured on those pages! Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Frederick had a lovely ...

Kathy's Korner: Lakeshore Vacation
http://kalludwig.blogspot.com/2009/07/lakeshore-vacation.html
A little bit about me and my family. Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Well, it's been a couple of weeks since we've been back from our vacation at Lake Erie - but I'll tell you about it anyway. The campground wasn't as nice as we'd hoped. Sites were very small and, unlike Kelley's Island, there was no view of the lake. But, we were right across the street from the bathrooms! What can I say? Toilets and showers trump ambience! So we found a warm, shallow spot and just hung out there! Saturday, we drove down the r...

Kathy's Korner: February 2009
http://kalludwig.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
A little bit about me and my family. Monday, February 9, 2009. We are getting towards that time of the year when the weather starts shifting and you don't know if you need to wear your mukluks. A week ago it was well below freezing and we had snow up to our eyeballs. The last two days has been in the 40's and 50's - tomorrow is supposed to be warmer but thunderstorms are forecast. Just about the time we get used to the nice weather it will be SLAM! Back into a winter freeze. Gotta love the Midwest. There...
