There’s this whole phenomenon that has developed around high school seniors called the ‘senior trip.’ The scenario is this: parents plan and pay for some kind of jet-setting vacation in a tropical locale over spring break to celebrate their kid’s senior year. Some parents go as ‘chaperones,’ others just send their kid along. These trips make no sense to me. And here’s why:. 1 What are we celebrating?
