Cherry Bomb Baby: January 2008
http://cherrybombbaby.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 31, 2008. Dyeing Success Smells Sweet. Really it does. Because this merino top smells vaguely of honey. As does this roving. This is more of the Fletcher/Suri Alpaca blend I got from Homestead. And its SO beautiful even my partner thought it was neat. And that is rare because he is not a fiber afficionado. He is more of a motorcycle and broken retro dishwasher kind of guy. Now for the green:. Always taught us the method I used. And she always has her reasons as I'm learning. I left some...
Cherry Bomb Baby: April 2008
http://cherrybombbaby.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 24, 2008. FOs and My Favorite Thing. This is a rather tight squeeze and I think it might be making its way to a smaller baby soon. The striping is weird and the seaming leaves something to be desired. But he can wear it and I made it and I have less little balls of Blue Sky Cotton rolling around in my stash so, kind of a success right? Not an entirely satisfying one I'll admit. I'm not super happy with the weird white panels at the top but I. I'm very sensitive to the itch factor and I'd ...
Cherry Bomb Baby: December 2007

Saturday, December 29, 2007. Madder Yarn and More Fleeces. This little skein went to my awesome sister-in-law's mom. She is always making beautiful things for my niece, either crochet or sewn. I thought she might be able to make a small project, a hat or something with this. It began with white Merino and Cormo fleece from Merry Meadows farm in Willits, CA, washed and handcarded by me then natural dyed with madder. Oh well, I'm sure it was a good one. Didn't I say onto the possibilities? A fawn and a dar...

Saturday, December 27, 2008. I have a few new listings on Esty. http:/ www.etsy.com/shop.php? I am so frustrated, though. My pictures for my listings are terrible. You would not believe how hard natural light is to come by in Wisconsin in December. I built a light box, but can't seem to get enough light in that either. I guess I'll be spending some quality time with my camera manual today. And a close up of the poncho:. Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Unfortunately, not everything in this world is that unc...
Cherry Bomb Baby: March 2008
http://cherrybombbaby.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 24, 2008. Here is the pure Rita roving that Sandy from Homestead parted with for me! The center was dyed with logwood grey exhaust, it is barely dyed at all. I thought of overdying it again but I think I'll be blending these up and the white/barely grey will lend a little brightness. Then from the top is cutch, pomegranate, que red, more cutch, madder, wattle and more pomegranate. Enough to hold the single together and no more. Well, what about when they are mixed 50/50? Cherry Bomb Baby: February 2008
http://cherrybombbaby.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 16, 2008. Embers in a haystack. This is the first skein of Fletcher's rescue roving I dyed, it was dyed with quebracho red, pomegranate, wattle, logwood purple (I think I browned that out by placing it by yellows and they bled together-WHAT was I thinking? I like how its greenish. I was expecting more yellow and it is yellow when you get in there to look at the fibers that were white, but when you step back and look at the whole it looks olive. Love it. This is a sad little picture of ...

My long wooly weekend. Frank has been in Vegas for CES. Since Wednesday. He gets in tonight around midnight and I can't wait to see him again. Since I moved from Seattle to be with him, we've hardly spent time away from each other. It's been kinda lonely in the apartment, but i always try to make the most of it. The sandwich I made: tofu, carrots, cilantro and sriracha mayo. My new drum carder arrived on friday! A few test batts. Dirty wool. wet, soapy wool. Have a wonderful week! Follow me on Twitter.

Spun and Thrown's Blog. Pumpkin guts →. October 10, 2009. Earlier this week I dyed a bunch of fibers, and today I spun up one into a pretty girly yarn that I’ll use to make something for one of my nieces later. These girls are really into pink and purple, so those are the colors that went into this yarn. I started off with some merino that I dyed pink and purple, along with some coordinating tussah silk roving. Pink and Purple Silk and Merino. Then I plied these two together to make a two ply yarn. Email...
Knitting binge | Spun and Thrown's Blog
https://spunandthrown.wordpress.com/2010/07/17/knitting-binge
Spun and Thrown's Blog. July 17, 2010. I’ve been doing a lot of knitting of baby garments, and this post is full of them. First I have a baby earflap hat that I knit using some small lengths of yarn that I spun as experiments. Next is a pair of elf style booties from flint knits. Knit with Knit Picks Wool of the Andes. And finally I’m in the middle of a sweater. I’m knitting this with two of my handspun yarns, and striping with groups of four rows. This entry was posted in knitting. Search Spun and Thrown.
