Home Sweet House Project Blog. Refuge or Prospect - part 1. When my husband and I married in 1990, he lived with his son in a contemporary house with a spectacular view of the Olympic mountains and Lake Washington. The house was sandwiched between two view seeking neighbors and accessed by a steep winding driveway. When my daughter, my son, and I joined this duo, we were then 5. His contemporary house was furnished with a very basic contemporary style. My husband's house was definitely all prospect!

Home Sweet House Project Blog. Refuge or Prospect - part 2 or (rest of the story). The rest of the story.so, my aha moment came from an upcoming opportunity that I decided to utilize to its fullest capacity. My husband, Harlan, a pediatrician, enjoyed working with kids in various kinds of opportunities and countries. I knew he would be. With more security and confidence, my percentage need for refuge has diminished. Living in Washington is much better with light, artificial or natural! The words of Alex,...

Home Sweet House Project Blog. Pastry for two-crust pie (If you don't have a great recipe, I do.). 2 1/2 Tablespoons cornstarch. 3 cups fresh blackberries ( actually used 4). 1 Tablespoon lemon juice. 1 tablespoon butter, to dot.I probably use 2. Preheat oven to 425degrees After baking for 15 minutes, reduce oven to 375degrees and continue baking for an additional 40-50 minutes or until pie is bubbly. (I always wrap tinfoil around the edge and take it off the last 1/2 hour.). Click here to post a comment!

Home Sweet Horne
Tuesday, December 22, 2009. A photo of the yard on Wednesday, 3 days pre-storm. A shot from the front door during the storm on Saturday. It was a lot of freaking snow (for Maryland). But really, 20 inches is a lot of snow for just about anywhere but Alaska. Home sweet Horne, taken this morning. We are so happy to finally be in! Libby and Dave Horne. Monday, December 21, 2009. Well, sort of. Once the moving van, our storage units and our development got plowed out, the move recommenced at noon yesterday.

Home Sweet House Project Blog. Transitions come in all sizes; small, medium, and large! As an active real estate broker, I thought I knew all about moving. My clients did it all the time and I was thinking I had it covered. Was I ever in for a surprise. It is with a great portion of my heart that I attach the video that our daughter used to market what we thought was a very special home for 17 years. Home Sweet House Project Blog. Home Sweet...How? | A STORY OF HOME IMPROVEMENT…BY THE NOT-SO-INCLINED…
A STORY OF HOME IMPROVEMENT…BY THE NOT-SO-INCLINED…. Posted by: Mrs. HSH. February 12, 2013. I wholly admit to neglecting this blog completely. Life marched on and despite the fact that things were happening on the home improvement front, I lost all ability to write about it. Posted by: Mrs. HSH. June 7, 2012. The Home Improvement Hiatus is Officially Over. However, momentum is about to turn into real progress as we have our first in-home estimate from a recommended contractor next week! One of the major...
Our little corner of the world...
Our little corner of the world. Monday, November 8, 2010. I've been trying to do more and more artsy things lately, but am off to a slow start. I am still in the process of organizing my art space. I just joined Suzi Blu's. Current online class La Sirena. It's an online art workshop, this class is focusing on folk art and more stylistic Mermaids! I haven't painted any Mermaids for this class yet(only a few sketches). But I do have a couple recent little projects to share. Princess in the Garden. Through ...
Home Sweet Huis | Affordable living—abroad!
October 15, 2015. Wow, so. Three years has passed. Usually I wouldn’t pay any attention to a passage of time in writing (who reads the dates on these things, anyway? But so much has happened to the person who wrote that last post. We’ve lived in two other houses since my last post, but we just moved into the first home that’s really ours. Our first house back in our favorite city of Amersfoort. Today’s topic: Go for it or sleep on it? September 4, 2012. When we start talking about something we’d li...

Tuesday, February 27, 2007. A special day for Gretchen. Magic isn't like a cold; you want to catch it. That special spark we call magic removed the gloom of Sutter Memorial Hospital's pediatric unit on Sunday. From a chance encounter between "Snickers" the clown and ponytailed Gretchen, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, a roomful of children and parents laughed. This hospital room is not always a happy place. "There are setbacks" confessed katie Gordon, the hospital's child life coordinator. "Som...Their...
