Bits and Pieces | Home Sweet Yurt
https://homesweetyurt.wordpress.com/2013/03/21/bits-and-pieces
It is slowly coming together…. Bedroom walls are all done! Used paper to trace the weird shapes of the bathroom ceiling and cut the drywall. Our house today – still in progress, but we love it! This entry was posted on October 25, 2013, in Uncategorized. Our big project this month has been the kitchen. We bought a new fridge and a used range. Installed a kitchen window. Next we raised (on 2x4s for added height) and installed the new cabinets. Lastly, we installed our new sink. (First time I’ve had hot running water in the kitchen in five years! Time to move all the food and dishes! This entry was posted on October 24, 2013, in Uncategorized.
Heat | Home Sweet Yurt
https://homesweetyurt.wordpress.com/2013/10/23/heat
It’s been getting a little cold around here…. So we tackled the woodstove, hearth, and chimney. First, we had to move the several-hundred-pound hearth form the little yurt. Turns out Paul glued it to the floor, so he had to remove the floor with the hearth. Then we had to move it and place it into the new yurt. Next, Paul hooked up the new chimney. And finally, we moved the woodstove with help from John and Linda and some tool borrowing from Ted and Myrt. Now it’s nice and toasty inside! Take care, mom.

It’s been awhile since we posted, so here is a quick photo catch-up! Took a break to build a coop for our new chickens! Very little sleep as we kept the fire blazing 24/7 to keep them warm. Eric, Kristin, Lucy, and Jamie
Eric, Kristin, Lucy, and Jamie. Sunday, May 22, 2016. Jamie is not our showman. He hides in performances, doesn't want the spotlight, and refuses to participate whenever possible. Every year Small Wonders Preschool does a picnic/performance where all the kids sing songs for a program and we have a potluck dinner. Last year Jamie got so nervous he puked right before the show. I was thinking he'd find a way to back out this year, but he did a great job! Tuesday, February 23, 2016. I know, right? Finally th...

Sunday, April 17, 2016. He Goodness of God. As you open up the sacred pages of the Bible, one of the first things you discover is God. As a matter of fact, the very first words of the entire Bible are “In the beginning God.”. Many people don't know God. At least not on a heart level. They don't truly understand His character, His heart! They think He is cruel, exacting, and unjust, or at least, uncaring. They have this strange idea of a “Do or Die” kind of tyrant. - Choices? He was completely selfless!
Home Sweet Yum: cooking creations from Katrin's kitchen
My name is Katrin. And cooking is my passion! I love to prepare food for my family and come up with home made flavors that are unique, tasty, yet still healthy. My husband always tells me that the scent of my cooking in the house is what makes our house a home. Well, I agree that there is no food like a home cooked meal or like mom's yummy dishes, and that culinary spirit lives here. 2 things to know about my cooking style:. 1) I never use or follow recipees.
