So this was the week to see many of our friends! Monday was my standard parrot rescue volunteer night with my sister, with a break for cake to celebrate the recent marriage of two of our volunteers. And that cake was deeeelish! Tuesday we were off to celebrate Heather's 30th birthday at Benihana's. Yum! I visited the Benihana.

Friday, August 26, 2005. The other week Tom and I were watching a TV show on the Travel Channel (Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations for those who are interested). It was an interesting show about this guy traveling to the most remote parts of Vietnam. At one point, his guide takes him to a village where there is a "cafe" which was not normally open that day. The guide talked to the owner and soon returned to tell Mr. Bourdain that they would open the cafe and would be serving *! Thursday, August 25, 2005.

Wednesday, June 15, 2005. Tonight most of the engaged couples we know ventured out to Ichiban for all you can eat sushi. The group included: Newly engaged Adam and Dena, Deb and Ter, Adam and the spirit of Heather, and Tom and me. This was much fun - the chefs put all the sushi out on boats that float in a moat (take that Dr. Seuss! We walked back to the parking garage and parted from our friends. Tuesday, November 29, 2005. I have a new cube neighbor with a very loud cell phone ring and even louder phone etiquette. I *heart* my noise cancelling headphones. I've been listening to Fiona Apple's new CD: Extraordinary Machine. Some of the songs are reminiscent of her previous work but I am quite fond of a few of the songs including: O' Sailor, Not About Love, Please Please Please, and Tymps (The Sick in the Head Song). Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Our friend Adam's father passed away accidentally on Sunday. I met Glenn a dozen or so times over the years. He always struck me as a neat person, and I marveled at the close relationship he had with his son. I remember the grin he flashed without reserve and the passion he had for the things and people he loved. Tuesday, September 20, 2005. 3 days left until the big day is here! Most everything is done, just a few loose ends left. My sister and Deb came over Sunday to fly through creating the favors and placecards - thanks guys :).
