Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Our shed needs painting. I've been putting this off for months, despite a winter of beautiful, mild weather, because I couldn't choose a paint color! Back in the fall, I used up a small bit of exterior white paint on the trim. In order to use every last drop of paint and be able to throw the can away, I applied three coats, when one probably would have sufficed. Just painting the trim was a huge improvement, because before that, the entire shed was the same dull color. These cookie...

homewithmari: March 2012

http://homewithmari.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 9, 2012. Another reason I love this room is it's brightness. During the day, I can leave the shades pulled halfway down and lots of light still streams in. After living in an apartment with only three windows (north facing), I really appreciate sunlit rooms. Upgrading from a three window apartment to a 20 window house meant we needed lots of window treatments, but that's another post. Monday, March 5, 2012. Stuff I've always wanted to do but never thought that I could:. Run over a mile.

homewithmari: February 2013

http://homewithmari.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 18, 2013. Anyway, what causes me to post today is this table and chairs we bought off craigslist last month. I am so excited about them. We resold the first table and chairs we bought on craigslist, because they were not very comfortable. No wooden chairs could surpass our current ones in comfort, but the old ones had a very annoying, uncomfortable, uneven number of rungs on the back. I forgot to take before pictures of the chairs, but here is a before picture of the table. Also, a few w...

homewithmari: February 2012

http://homewithmari.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 27, 2012. Our house came with no gutters. The roof was new, which is way more important, but we figured gutters were pretty important too. So, I googled a bunch and got some quotes. The prices shocked my socks off. Considering that our house is a one story rectangle, I figured white, plastic gutters would cost a couple hundred dollars. Turns out they would have been a couple thousand. Smell the flowers, but don't eat them". Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Joann's sells small sheets of colo...

homewithmari: Mulch

http://homewithmari.blogspot.com/2013/04/mulch.html

Saturday, April 27, 2013. We had 5 yards of mulch delivered yesterday. Mari walked outside, stood next to it, and said in a very impressed voice, "Whoa. that's a BIG pile.". Then, she climbed all over it and enjoyed wheel barrow rides while Daniel and I ferried it to the backyard. So, that's all I can think to write about our mulch. April 28, 2013 at 3:25 AM. I could use a couple of yards up here : ). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. View my complete profile.
