Pilgrim is the third child of my very dear friend Sarah. I was so graciously allowed to be present for this little guy's birth (even though i nearly missed it! And I'll never be less in awe of experiencing that with a friend. these moments are what make us family. I'll save the photos of his birth to be private for the family, but here is this sweet boy's first set of portraits! These girls are as sweet as they come. brooks and madison give me a sense of excitement for who our young people really are. (do i sound so old yet? Haha) but really, they are smart, kind, generous, and ladylike. we had so much fun spending time together. initially, they only asked for head shots and maybe a couple extra photos for a pretty exciting event they have coming up. but we were having so much fun, it was hard to stay on task. ;). Pilgrim foster turns one. Well, i'm still alive! I've been neglecting this blog for quite some time, mostly because i've got nothing to report! I haven't been shooting much, with the exception of a mini session here and there. more on that later. For now, i wanted to share this beautiful birthday party, and portraits of baby Pilgrim. i'm sure you'll remember from these parts. he has gone and turned one, and is such a light! This week, i had the pure pleasure of shooting the very first Tampa Anthropologie Fall fashion show. it was a blast! Of course, we expect beautiful things of Anthropologie and its clothing. we already know we'll be beyond inspired by the decor and displays. but these ladies in tampa pulled out a beautiful, perfectly curated collection of looks. i hope you'll feel as excited about building your fall wardrobe as those of us in attendance! Things have been pretty busy in these parts - in the very best way! So busy, that i couldn't be more thankful for patient brides (and grooms! Last week, i had the pleasure of meeting a couple at the location of their wedding*, to talk about details and generally just get to know each other. we have so many mutual friends, and it was a pleasure to meet in person. the night before our meeting, the couple decided to have a quick session while we were there. Ida and the cake. I think that the last time Ida was a mentioned on this blog, she was still in her mama's belly. Since then, I played doula to her birth (still a lasting, valuable, AMAZING memory for me), and she has turned one! Of all the babies that i've watched eat their first bit of cake, she…well…took the cake. in every way. is there anything cuter than curiosity? Probably not. unless it's messy. That's definitely cuter. :). All decorations by elizabeth, her talented mama and my dear friend.

We met at an old plantation from the 1800s, and were the only souls there. i'll admit i was a little creeped out at first, but i didn't have any time to think about it once the kids were let loose! Haha i'll be the first to admit that i have no tips for collecting and corralling 6 kids under 7. but what fun! Here's a tip for getting everyone in the shot: employ one of the kids!
