February | 2016 | Ramblings of an Inquisitive Mind
https://ramblingsinquisitivemind.wordpress.com/2016/02
Ramblings of an Inquisitive Mind. A blog by Melissa Scott. Archive for February, 2016. I tried my best to stop it from coming. The last day of January I stayed in bed all day with the covers over my head. Wishing it away. Crying when I realized time just does whatever it wants to. It just keeps ticking away, one second at a time, no matter how hard we try to stop it. Just one more second. Crazy, isn’t it? How can they go on? It is still unbelievable to me that my sisters and I put our mother and father i...

Today marks her 80th birthday and the first birthday for us since she passed away six months ago. I am lost, confused, tired, sad, and overwhelmed but I am still breathing. I miss those times. I miss her. I wish I had one more minute just to hug her, thank her, tell her I love her. Happy Birthday Momma. I love you. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. June 9, 2016.

Ramblings of an Inquisitive Mind. A blog by Melissa Scott. Archive for March, 2015. Me and My Hobo Heart. I have always had a hobo heart. Always longing always searching always seeking. Always striving to become the person I was born to be. Many people who know me might disagree; they might point out that I never travel, never go anywhere, so how can I be a hobo? Well, I think there is a huge difference I said I have a hobo. In the song, Mama Was Always Tellin’ Her Truth, Iris Dement writes,. June 9, 2016.

Ramblings of an Inquisitive Mind. A blog by Melissa Scott. Archive for January, 2017. Another reason was the feeling that most people were tired of hearing about my life, and my inability to cope with the hand I’ve been dealt. Then I went through a phase of feeling that no one was really worthy of knowing me on a deep level, because no one really cares. So why have I decided to start writing again? Who knows what just being present in my own life might mean for someone I pass on the street. I wonder how ...

Ramblings of an Inquisitive Mind. A blog by Melissa Scott. Archive for June, 2015. I do not even know how to begin. I am heartbroken, and sick of this senseless violence. I am angry that a young white man has robbed not only their families and Charleston, but the whole country, of the beautiful people he so ruthlessly murdered. The only reason was hate. Intense dislike, extreme aversion, or hostility. If that is the definition, what causes hate? Are we taught to hate? So when events like the racist murde...

Mask | Ramblings of an Inquisitive Mind

Ramblings of an Inquisitive Mind. A blog by Melissa Scott. January 28, 2016. I’m wearing it. Can you tell? Somehow I make it through the workday without quitting my job, screaming at my coworkers, or falling on the ground and refusing to move. I make it through the day and as soon as I open the truck door, the mask melts away and I cry all the way home. You never know, do you? Can I survive if I am no longer hiding from myself? Ramblings of an Inquisitive Mind. A blog by Melissa Scott. Archive for July, 2015. Historic – June 26, 2015. I am speechless. I never thought it would happen not in my lifetime, anyway. But today is a historic day. The Supreme Court of the United States, in a 5-4 decision, ruled that same-sex couples have the right to marry in all 50 states. Now, what if those parents never accepted your relationship? What if they decide to take your partner home with them? By now you see where I am going with this these...

Sunday, December 13, 2009. Ok, I hate the construction. I really do. I wish that the construction was somewhere other than where the majority of the students are during the course of the day. There is (or was) a fountain just behind where the cone is now that was so beautiful. It has been shut off due to construction purposes. This has really frustrated me. Rice Library is my absolute favorite building on campus. It has such beautiful architecture and it feels like such a homey place to be. I enj...Now r...

I’m making some final touches on the critical essay today and studying for my first final tomorrow. Awareness is good (well, except, in the case of pinkwashing…but that’s another story). I have to say I most enjoyed reading the radical feminist pieces by Rich. Which is on intimate partner violence among same-sex couples. I wish you all the best on your finals/...

Friday, November 12, 2010. So there remains the question of how to build a tribe around this life. How is messy community appealing? The greatest difficulty, then, is not how I am to convince other people of the validity of this community, but rather how I am to crucify myself and allow my life to be changed that others might see and glorify God. What my effectiveness at spreading the knowledge of this community depends on, ultimately, is whether or not I am in it. Friday, October 29, 2010. Friday, Septe...

Thursday, July 30, 2015. Whitley had her baby! I figured I would write as much of her birth story as I knew and get her pictures somewhere that she could see them and post if she wants. She had super short, intense labor that lasted about 5 hours total. She went from "almost a two" at her appointment Wednesday morning, to a 4 by 7:30 (7 hours after she took castor oil) and a 10 and ready to push by about 10:00! Whitley and baby both did great and everyone is healthy and happy and I am finally an AUNT!

Which is basically the second part of this Pull Request. I am Hannes Tribus born and grown up in the South Tyrolean alps where I'm working now for more then 10 years as a software engineer.
